MODULE OVERVIEW
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LEARNING CONTENTS
When viewed from the side, Microsoft Word functions as a blank sheet of paper or a test
paper for every student, which is very useful during a pandemic. Students are increasingly
attending online courses, which has become the new norm. The Microsoft Power point program is
used as a blackboard, and manila paper is used to make a presentation to the students. Enhancing
your presentation's interest level through the usage of multimedia can assist you in increasing the
attention span of your audience. Images, music, and video can all be used together in PowerPoint
to create a more visually appealing presentation. A presenter's ability to be more spontaneous and
engaging with an audience may be enhanced by using visual and aural cues.
2. CONSTRUCTIVIST STRATEGIES
The constructivist learning theory is used to guide the development of these strategies.
Based on the earlier framework of cognitivism, which believes that learning should build on
knowledge that a student already knows, this theoretical framework proposes that learning should
build on prior knowledge that a student already knows, known as a schema. According to
constructivists, learning is more successful when a student is actively involved in the building of
knowledge than passively receiving it.
Lectures or Talks- The lectures or talks are quite important in the process of guiding a
person. When a group is in need of direction, the primary method of resolving a common
group problem is through lecture. Furthermore, in order to better grasp their difficulties, a
question and answer session should be held. This will further aid in the delivery of the
most beneficial and optimal answer to the group's problems. As a result, lecturing is a
logical method of guiding a group of people.
Demonstrations and role- playing- are encouraged since "actions speak louder than
words." As a result, demonstrations and role-plays are among the most effective methods
of counseling a person. Furthermore, it is less time-consuming and more captivating than
the alternative. This technique improves the engagement and energy efficiency of group
guidance by making it more interactive and energy-efficient. Because it necessitates the
participation of multiple individuals, the work is shared among them.
Spheres of influence - This approach is used to determine a person's personal strengths and
limitations. A person's ability to excel in a certain sector is dependent on his or her understanding
of oneself. This strategy is used by guidance counselors to motivate and advise a specific
individual. Furthermore, individual guidance necessitates the right management of a person's
emotions and operates in accordance with this.
Immediacy- Informing a person about the existing condition encourages him to work more
efficiently toward the goal. Furthermore, it fosters a sense of confidence in him, which will aid
him in his efforts to achieve his goal.
Proxemics- is the approach of observing and analyzing the body language of a certain individual.
Because of this, the guidance counselor will be able to gain an understanding of the client's
emotional and mental well-being. Furthermore, it will assist him in pre-planning his reactions so
that the instruction can proceed as easily as possible.
Congruence- is concerned with the input provided by the counselor. The counselor's feedback
should be honest and forthright. As a result, it will aid in the advancement of the client's situation.
Furthermore, it will help him to better comprehend the current situation and identify potential
improvements.
Hierarchy of needs - Understanding a client's requirements is critical. In addition, the client's
needs include emotional, psychological, and physical safety requirements, among other things.
Furthermore, the need for self-esteem and self-actualization are crucial considerations. This will
be beneficial to the client's development. Furthermore, it can aid in the modification of counseling
if it is found to be in need of improvement.
