Read the writing task below and write a paragraph expressing your opinion. Use your
ideas from activity D.

Computer classes should be compulsory for all students in primary and

secondary schools. Do you agree?
Yes,I agree.Computers have become a necessary part of teaching students in
schools and classrooms are being equipped with computer systems to impart
education to students. Every student prefers Internet learning whether it is for
home works, study notes, projects or for exam preparation. These skills are
beneficial for their studies but also they can excel in other spheres like for
professional purpose or for personal use. Where computers, laptops as well
as mobiles have advanced and improved our lifestyle there are certain
negative impacts too which can be harmful to long-term if timely actions are
not taken to reduce them.
Students can make great projects, presentations art and crafts, image
editing, video editing or join social media groups to enhance computer skills or
learn new skills like animation, programming etc.. By mastering these skills
students will be able to use it for benefit of their studies. They can make their
projects, homework, assignments or even study notes using a computer. Also,
students can make a career in this stream where these computer skills are
required; for example, for graphic designer skills like image editing, video
editing are required and by mastering them students can become a
successful graphic designer.
They gain knowledge as well as learn new skills so that they can take up
challenges like cyber olympiads, quiz competitions etc. Such type of
competitions or participating in new skill development activities makes an
interactive learning and boosts students’ interest in their academics.
Many times, this happens with all of us that while working on one thing,
some other things catch our attention and we waste our time in that. This
stops us from doing our required task and time is wasted. Students, also go
through the same situation because the computer is a multitasking device and
besides, studies there is a lot more to do with it such as computer games,
Internet browsing, social media, creativity skills developing applications, e-
learning material other than school work. Students end up spending hours on
these applications and waste their study time.
There are innumerous cases where students are found guilty of
committing illegal use of their computer skills like hacking, frauds etc.
Students need to understand that mastering computer skills does not permit
them to commit wrong things like cheating and this can bring them negative
impacts when they are found.
