What does “Revelation” mean?
❖It’s called “Wahi” in Arabic.
❖Its literal meaning is an idea, a suggestion, a command, to point out something or to send
a message.
❖In general, revelation is the communication between Allah and His messengers.
WHY WAS THERE A NEED FOR THE BOOKS OF
GUIDANCE?

❖Different books/ scriptures (suhuf, sahifas) were sent to different


communities.
❖They were sent from time to time.
❖People forgot the message of Allah.
❖Started worshipping idols.
❖Sins became very common.
