Abstract
The purpose of this project is to solve the problem that always repeated in steel product
industry by designing the automatic sheet metal stamping machine which is easy, light and
more productive. automatic sheet metal stamping which is automatically stamping the sheet
metal in a short time, at appropriate place, shows logo clearly and also which save labor energy
and suitable for the products. Stamping sheet metal is the main job in industry which is
applicable traditionally. To avoid this traditional stamping process; to reduce time of stamping
To increase productivity with quality stamping this machine is the best choice for the steel
product industry. This design has its own phase; the first phase of this project is to collect
secondary data from the industry. Height of belt from ground reference is 920mm ; Length of
delivery loop belt from load to unload 6400mm ; Number of sheet metals sheared or cut per
minute 20 pieces of sheet metal(20cut/min) ; Six million sheet metals can be cut per year if the
machine works in three shifts. ; Feed roller speed of machine is 72m/min … (this is the
maximum speed of feeder machine); Conveyor speed 60m/min.; One coloring use three
punches. ; Use two logos; Amount of force that use to stamp the sheet metal F=250N-350N and
identify the most usual repeated problem. After this trying to finding different method and
machines as well as different mechanism by doing certain hypothesis and taking the simplest
one for this purpose. The final phase involves starting the designing of machine which is good
and properly working the stamping process.

Clock stamp - a combination clock and dating stamp for stamping the exact time.
Department stamp-is an official hostage stamp issued for use in a particular
government department.
Documentary stamp-is a revenue stamp issued for use on documents.
Die stamping-to form or cut out especially from sheet stock or to emboss by
means of adie.
This could be a single stage operation where a very stroke of the press produces the
desired form on the sheet metal pass occur through the series of stage the process is
carried out on the sheet metal. Stamping is usually done on cool.
to identify their products from the other industries . Not only this have had they
wanted to put the logo that should show its product quality for the customer.
However, the process of putting or stamping the logo on the products is done by a
person manually this stamping process has side effect on the products as well as,
the product is done manually. The effect in terms of worker it needs more energy
cause stress on the worker and makes him tidies so that the worker may stop
stamping process due to this difficult work this can affect the company’s
productivity and quality. In response to this problem my study proposes to design
automatic stamping machine to make the company’s profitable, more productivity
also keep logo quality. This designed machine will also provide less expensive,
simple ways to avoids some or all of the problems noted above (such as unclearly
visible logo, unnecessary labor energy etc.) and make the company with better
product and quality
1.3 The Purpose of the study
Sheet metal stamping is widely implemented in automobile industries to convert
sheet metal into exterior and interior parts, such as auto-body panels and also a
3
variety of appliance parts, with prescribed sizes and shapes. This is because of its
efficiency in bulk forming operations.
The advantage of stamping for different industries include high precision, low
secondary costs, fast production, and quick turnover.

CHAPTER TWO
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1 Introduction
Stamped parts were used for mass produced bicycles in the 1890s. Stamping
replaced die forging and machining, resulting in greatly reduced cost. Although not
as strong as die forged parts, they were of good enough quality. Stamped bicycle
parts were being imported into the United States from Germany in 1890. U.S.
companies then started to have stamping machines custom built by U.S. machine
tool makers. Through research and development Western Wheel was able to
stamp most bicycle parts. Stamping is the process of placing a flat sheet metal in
either blank coil form in to stamping press where a tool and die surface forms
metal in to net shape. Stamping also the process of placing sing or symbol that
identifies the products from one company to other. Stamping is started from
earlier stage it manual operating systems but through time it develops and
becomes modernized or computerized system. Today also there are so many
stamping systems in different working area. As far back as 3000BC Stamps and
seals have been used. Seals were the most common, used during a time which oral
and written communication was difficult. A person could use their seal, which
would commonly come from a ring or a hand stamp to sign important documents.
Stamps and seals have been made from a variety of materials such as wood, stone,
bone and metals. Today such stamps and seals are most often made from rubber

CHAPTER THREE
3 METHODOLOG
3 .1 Introduction
This topic consists of methods for completing product development activities. The
applied methods, which are well-structured, provide a step-by-step approach to
complete the task of this thesis. This project starts with identifying the problem. It is
a first step for the project flow in order to find the problem in conventional lapping.
This step helps to create a different design to improve the product. After identify the
problem for the project, project continues with identify the objective. It helps us to
know the main point to make the project success or not. The project continues with
identify the scope of the project because this scope can help the progress to create
the new product design for the project and to make sure the method chose will be
within the range of achievable objective. Next continue it with literature review and
research about the title. This consist a review of the design and type of safety. These
tasks have been done through research on the internet, books, discussing with
advisor. From the flow chart, start to design new concept. using specifications as
reference and improve the design. When the design chosen was needed to be
improved I reviewed previous steps. For no improvement we continued to next step.
Then produce the drawing together with dimension of the product from design and
then select type of material needed.

Manufacturing cost estimation represents the complete expenditure incurred when
manufacturing an end product. While they do not include all of the indirect costs
involved in producing a product, they do represents a comprehensive list of direct
expenses involved in creating an item to be sold.
