TEACHERS

Efforts to continue to develop the teaching profession are an absolute requirement for
the progress of a nation. Increasing the quality of educators will encourage the improvement of
the quality of education, both in terms of process and results. Teachers are one of the professions
that play a role in making this happen. What will happen if the teacher himself is not professional
and honest in his work. Professional teachers certainly produce outstanding teachers. However,
the main professional foundation is honesty, this is one of the personality competencies of a
teacher. Professional honesty can be interpreted as an attitude that is born in the form of
performance and which is contained in the intention to improve performance. Professional
honesty is the basic attitude that underlies the appearance of a person's work in carrying out his
profession, both visible (work behavior) and abstract (intentions, ideals and ideas). Indications of
an honest teacher in this case are: a) willing to learn and ask questions about their ignorance to
seniors, school principals or colleagues; b) Likes to discuss about the tasks faced daily; c)
Always want to work with the best results; d) always take the time to read books related to his
duties as a teacher, and e) still feel dissatisfied with his own work even though he has made
many improvements and received praise from people in his work. professional principles,
namely: 1. Have talents, interests, vocation and idealism. 2. Have educational qualifications and
educational background in accordance with their field of work. 3. Have the necessary
competencies in accordance with their field of work. 4. Adhere to the professional code of ethics.
5. Have rights and obligations in carrying out their duties. 6. Obtain a determined income in
accordance with his work performance. 7. Have the opportunity to develop their profession in a
sustainable manner. 8. Obtain legal protection in carrying out their professional duties. 9. Have a
professional organization that is a legal entity”.
