DAILY LESSON
Teacher: Subject: MATHEMATICS
LOG IN
MATHEMATICS 7 Date and
Quarter: THIRD
Time:

I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of geometry of
shapes and sizes, and geometric relationships.
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to create models of plane figures and formulate and
solve accurately authentic problems involving sides and angles of a
polygon.
C. Most Essential Learning The learner uses a compass and straightedge to bisect line segments and
Competency angles and construct perpendiculars and parallels. (M7GE-IIId-e-1)
D. Objectives At the end of this lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. identify the Euclidean tools.
b. copy segments and angles using Euclidean tools; and
c. use a compass and straightedge to bisect line segments and angles
and construct perpendiculars and parallels.
II. CONTENT
A. Title GEOMETRIC CONSTRUCTION
III. LEARNING
RESOURCES

Other Learning Resources Bond paper, straight edge, and compass
IV.PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous The teacher will illustrate figures. The class shall determine the name of
lesson or presenting the the figures whether these are line segments, angles, parallel lines, or
new lesson perpendicular lines.
B. Establishing a purpose Ask the questions:
for the lesson 1. What do the construction workers use to build a house or a building?
2. Who designs the structure of a building?
3. What does the engineers/architect use to create these blueprints?
C. Presenting The teacher will present that the learners will be constructing parallel and
examples/Instances of perpendicular and bisecting segments and angles.
the new lesson
D. Discussing new The teacher will present the Euclidean tools and demonstrate to the
concepts and practicing learners the proper use of these tools.
new skills #1 A line segment will be drawn on the board, the teacher will demonstrate
how to bisect the segment.
The class will be asked to do the same on their bond paper using their
construction materials.
E. Discussing new An angle will be drawn on the board, the teacher will demonstrate how to
concepts and practicing bisect the angle.
new skills #2 The class will be asked to do the same on their bond paper using their
construction materials.
F. Discussing new concepts The teacher will demonstrate how to construct parallel lines.
and practicing new The class will be asked to do the same on their bond paper using their
skills #3 construction materials.
G. Discussing new The teacher will demonstrate how to construct perpendicular lines.
concepts and practicing The class will be asked to do the same on their bond paper using their
new skills #4 construction materials.
H. Developing mastery The class will be given exercises to practice the constructing of parallel and
(leads to Formative perpendicular and bisecting segments and angles.
Assessment)
I. Finding practical Ask the questions:
application of concepts 1. What do the construction workers use to build a house or a building?
and skills in daily living 2. Who designs the structure of a building?
3. What does the engineers/architect use to create these blueprints?
4. Who wants to be an engineer or an architect in the future?
J. Making generalizations Learners will be asked to relate how to construct of parallel and
and abstractions about perpendicular and bisect segments and angles using the Euclidean tools.
the lesson
K. Evaluating learning The teacher shall provide a quiz about constructing of parallel and
perpendicular and bisecting segments and angles.
L. Additional activities for More exercises will be given to the learners to hone their constructing skills
application or using the Euclidean tools.
