What's New in Destiny 19.6
Welcome to Destiny version 19.6. Destiny is a complete library and resource management system that can be
accessed from anywhere, 24/7, helping to strengthen the bond between the library, classroom, and home.
This new version incorporates many of your suggestions, and we are confident the enhanced features and
functions will meet your needs. We continue to improve Destiny for today’s students, teachers, administrators,
and librarians.
We know you will want to begin using these enhancements right away!

Notes:
l To update to the latest version of Destiny, you must be on Destiny v12.0 or later. If you have a version of
Destiny earlier than v12.0, you must first update to Destiny v12.0 before you can update to v19.6.
l Some Destiny Discover features will not be completely visible until you upgrade to Destiny v19.6.

Following are descriptions of the new features in Destiny v19.6.

Destiny Library Manager

19.6 MackinVIA Title Sync

An expanded integration makes it easier to maintain MackinVIA™ eBooks and audiobooks,
alongside the rest of your Destiny Discover collection. Digital resources purchased from Mackin™
are now synchronized in Destiny Discover via the Follett Digital Update job.
You no longer need to:
l Manually add new titles.
l Update title records with new information provided by MackinVIA.
l Delete titles that are no longer part of your collection.
These enhancements also lay the groundwork for more points of integration in future releases,
such as resource availability, checkouts, and more.
How to Participate:
Mackin has chosen to make this feature available as a closed beta, meaning only a limited number
of districts can utlilize the feature in early 2023 until it is available for wider release. Districts will be
added gradually as the integration is optimized. If your district would like to activate this feature as
part of the beta release, please email Mackin's Digital Services team at eservices@mackin.com to
be placed on the participation list.

Note: If you previously integrated Destiny with MackinVIA, there is no additional Destiny setup
required.

For more information on integrating Destiny with MackinVIA , see Enable MackinVIA Integration in
Destiny Help.
For more information on the Follett Digital Update process, see Update Follett Digital and
MackinVIA Titles in Destiny Help.

19.6 Shelf List Report

Site users with genrefied libraries can now add the Sublocation field to the Shelf List report to easily
see where materials are on the shelf and more effectively manage their library.

For more information about how to create the report, see Generate a Shelf List in Destiny Help.

Destiny Resource Manager

19.6 Advance Booking

Destiny Resource Manager's new advance booking feature lets districts save money by sharing
occasionally used resources.
After the district purchases a site license, the Destiny Administrator adds a new site to Destiny.
Resources are added to the advance booking site. Staff with advance booking site access can
book resources immediately or for the future for users throughout the district.

Teachers and other staff with the appropriate permissions can search for resources at the advance
booking site from Catalog > Resource Search. The calendar shows resource availability, letting
teachers reserve resources when needed to support their curriculum.

Advance booking site staff can manage, edit, and process a reserve. It is easy for staff to identify
items they need to pick for upcoming reserves, and print packing lists and shipping labels. They
can also check in booked items, import and transfer resources, set delivery and pickup dates, and
run reports.
For more information about advance booking, see Book Items in Destiny Help.

19.6 Item Transaction Report
Site users can now use the new Item Transaction report to extract circulation event data based on
a specified date range. With the XML file, users can view and manipulate data, including
checkouts, checkins, fines created, fines deleted, lost and stolen items, and circulation blocked
messages.

For more information about how to create the report, see Item Transaction Data Report in Destiny
Help.

19.6 Google Workspace-to-Destiny Disable, Re-enable, and Deprovision Rules

Users of the Destiny Resource Manager Mobile Device Management (MDM) Integration feature
can now determine what happens when Google Workspace has a device disable, re-enable, or
deprovision event. If any of the these checkboxes are selected, the Checked Out or Not Checked
Out item's status in Destiny is changed to the option selected in the drop-down.

For more information, see Customize Destiny Rules in MDM Integration Help.

19.6 Destiny-to-Google Workspace Transfer Rule

Google Workspace can now determine what happens when an item's site is changed in Destiny. If
this checkbox is selected, the item is moved to the site it is mapped to in Google Workspace. If the
site is not mapped, the user can choose an Organizational Unit (OU) to move it to.

For more information, see Customize Destiny Rules in MDM Integration Help.

19.6 Destiny-to-Jamf PRO Lost and Stolen Rules

Users of the Destiny Resource Manager Mobile Device Management (MDM) Integration feature for
Jamf PRO can now determine what happens when items are marked Lost or Stolen in Destiny.
When users select a checkbox, the item's status in Jamf PRO is changed to the option selected in
the drop-down.
