Types of noun
Noun has seven basic kinds. That are
1. Common noun
2. Proper noun
3. Collective noun
4. Material noun
5. Abstract noun
6. Countable noun
7. Uncountable noun
Common Noun:
The name of any common person, place or thing is called common noun.
Examples:
Proper noun
The name of a specific person, place or: thing is called proper noun. It starts with a capital letter.
Collective Noun:
The names of persons or things which are taken together and spoken as a whole unit are called
"collective noun".
Examples:
I love my family.
Abstract noun
The noun which denotes an idea, imagination, state or quality rather than an physical absence of
concrete object is known as abstract known.
Examples
He is kind man.
He loves you.
Material Noun
A substance, ingredient, or thing which we can see and touch and it is used to make other things is
known as material noun.
Examples:
Countable Noun
The names of persons or objects which can be counted are called "countable nouns".
Examples:
Uncountable Noun
The names of things that cannot be counted in numbers is called "uncountable nouns".
