10:41:32 From christine clark : Hi everyone! Christine Clark here from California. I reviewed the
first summer session class on the cells The idea of moving through space, or letting the air lift and move
you seems very therapeutically useful for people who are having a hard time lifting. I know we dancers
use it to create an effect with movement.

building tone? So happy to be here with everyone. Frances form Virginia.

be able to take part again live after two weeks and be with you all. The exploration of the unified
diaphragm and the countermovement of the coccyx/xhiphoid is very interesting for me. First it was
confusing, but now i feel that something gentle but powerful starts to develop inside me with this inner
movements. i feel more grounded, i feel the weight of my heels, as if there was a root that goes into the
ground. I also perceive as if my whole chest would "fall" more, wich is a very comfortable feeling. I'm so
deeply grateful for these explorations that you are offering, Bonnie, that are supporting me a great deal
in my everyday live and in my dance practice too.

Can’t believe it is already Session 7. I´ve been in all of Bonnie`s classes since Spring this year. (Hoping for
a Winter Class :0
11:09:51 From Rima Faber : I am relating my body's condensing and expanding to this life period
of condensing (isolation) to the expansion that will occur after the pandemic is conquered.
11:09:57 From Sara Vogeler : Hi Hannah Setu, I was at Erick Hawkins during the 70’s and early
80’s, too! I studied first with the gorgeous Lillo Way, and then with Erick himself!
11:11:03 From Hannah Setu : OH! Sara too! So exciting to meet here! <3 <3 <3
11:12:27 From Sara Vogeler : ah, Gloria!! truly exquisite dancer, you!!!
11:12:51 From Gloria McLean : Hannah Setu, nice to meet you. I’m a Hawkins dancer from 1982-
1993 and more time before and after training and teaching. WOW!
11:13:26 From vivien : The rooting from perineal body helps me a lot in that opening and
condensing
11:14:27 From Sara Vogeler : Love those pictures!! Great examples of condensing and
expanding!!
11:15:10 From Sara Vogeler : Vivian, love that rooting from the PB to open and condense!
11:15:12 From joan davis : is this another reflex altogether? If so, what is it called?
11:15:18 From carol : Hello to all from Carol in Italy. Just got back from Tuscania and an amazing
Nervous System module at Gloria Desideri’s gorgeous new venue for Leben.

If you would like to share something with just panelists (Bonnie and her team), choose All panelists in
the drop down menu in chat before you send your message.
11:15:50 From Laura Ann Wolfe : The rising of the pelvic floor on inhale I find counterintuitive to
conditioned training of engaging pelvic floor during exhalation in some dance techniques.
11:15:55 From Elisa Beck : Hi Aaron and everyone! It’s Elisa Beth Haransky-Beck from
Southwestern PA!!!
11:16:16 From Lisa Clark : The drawings are wonderful, they really embody the condense and
the expand
11:16:16 From doreen laperdon-addison : the art really captures the movement
11:16:38 From Kathy JO : Condensing and expanding..Does it have a relationship with centrifugal
and centripete forces ?
11:17:07 From Azela González Cañedo : Hi! Here is Azela I am now in Mérida, YUC México.
11:17:15 From Hannah Setu : Oh My! Gloria, so wonderful to meet you here! Erick inspired me
to go to Indonesia to study Asian dance and I stayed for 10 years, marrying my dance teacher and
eventually coming back here with children in 1989 to Texas.
11:17:20 From Moonshadow : This condense expand reflex reminds me of when I did
competitive swimming on the starting block. Condense and explode out into the water!
11:19:22 From Hannah Setu : Oh! I had not thought of the joyous expanding of so many in the
streets when the election was called!

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 10
11:23:03 From Toni Smith : The Dynamic Release. Feel the direction and lean in
11:23:38 From Cynthia Williams : the dynamic release reflex is a transformative reflex
11:24:41 From Liz Atkins : This is such a lovely new possibility for responding in the moment to
situations and emotions - condensing and expanding, so the patterns don't get stuck.
11:25:19 From Laura Ann Wolfe : So helpful to feel exhalation as expansion! Thank you, Bonnie.
11:25:28 From vivien : Since I condense into a big pillow at night, side-lying and really cuddling it,
I sleep so much better. I was lacking this second part of the reflex for a long time and its so relieving to
explore it now
11:25:32 From Azela González Cañedo : Taking notes: The Dynamic Release - Reflexes- open
expanding - condensing close.
Postural tone
Expand - Inhale
Contract - Exhale

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 11
11:27:54 From Bob L : Including breath/ diaphragm, expanding and condensing in torso also
releases ribs from spine. Any comments to support this, Bonnie?
11:28:17 From 361726 : I find myself trying to imitate Bonnie rather than connecting internally
to the sense of expansion and contraction.
11:28:46 From Sara Vogeler : It’s fine to imitate Bonnie. Its’ a way to bring it inside…
11:29:06 From Laura K. : Thanks for that Sara :)…I’m imitating too! haha
11:29:07 From Toni Smith : Dynamic Release overrides FREEZE. Also, she indicates that the
freeze is a response to a situation, not the situation, but rather, our response. Dynamic Release allows
dialogue with the situation, overriding the FREEZE.
11:29:36 From Hannah Setu : 361726 Yes imitate is the natural way.
11:29:52 From doreen laperdon-addison : love to review and also go back to the recordings very
helpful
11:30:38 From Simone Forti : From Simone, greetings and love to all.
11:31:35 From Sara Vogeler : HI Simone, wonderful to have a legend with us!
11:31:40 From bertholdhenseler : Berthold A few more words to me. I develope contend for
Children and parents to develope more and more a sense of self-efficacy. I just prepare a exhibition
about the art of smelling.
11:32:07 From Jane Ellison : so beautiful to see how the team works together.
11:32:16 From Susan Bauer : wow, hi Simone! I miss you and lovely to be here with you. Love,
Susan

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 12
11:33:21 From Paula Josa-Jones : Toni - however in my experience in working with trauma, one
can’t just override the freeze and move into dynamic release - that has to be a carefully titrated process.
11:33:28 From doreen laperdon-addison : I have 2 screws and a pin in my right ankle. For the
first time 35 years or so I am able to jump with ease off of my right foot and shift weight with more
clarity because of attention to pelvis diaphragm, triangles, pubis bones all of this work. My spine is more
free. So grateful
11:34:17 From Jazmin Jewel : so weird there's those 8 differentiated initial cells and that figure 8
that forms
11:36:09 From eleanorrosenthal : I’m not sure what I got wrong, but I’m in San Francisco
(Eleanor/Elli Rosenthal). My best to all!!!
11:36:10 From Andrea Snelling : My brain and body are finding it difficult to think about
contracting on an inhale...my previous learning is about lengthening on inhalations...A whole new
learning experience...
11:36:13 From doreen laperdon-addison : yes it is wonderful! Love reading all your comments
Sara. You are a wealth of information
11:36:18 From Hannah Setu : What? No diagrams before Kegel of the pelvic floor? Whaaa?
speechless
11:36:20 From Lauree Wise : Pelvis floor - “taut and resilient, not saggy” . I am reminded of a
trampoline
11:37:36 From Sara Vogeler : Thank you for flattering me, Doreen!!!
11:38:01 From Aaron Bendix-Balgley : Are the relative shapes of the male and female pelvises
really accurate? to my imagination it seems extreme the narrowness compared to roundedness. I'm
curious.
11:38:10 From Paula Josa-Jones : I find that it is more about allowing condensing on the inhale
rather than thinking about contracting. Expansion is happening above the thoracic diaphragm and
below the pelvis diaphragm.
www.bonniebainbridgecohen.com
2020 Fall Series – Class 7 13
11:38:24 From space4movement and Andrea : Yeah another series would be wonderful!!
11:38:24 From Hannah Setu : Perineum is the origin of the middle body? Such wonders I have
never learned...
11:39:11 From Mary Bacha : Aaron - an idea I have to see your own shape is to measure with
ribbon from each bony landmark
11:39:20 From Jazmin Jewel : Hannah I've just started looking into embryology and it is
incredible - you should look more. Bonnie has some resources on her website as well
11:40:09 From space4movement and Andrea : it is so liberating to think of all the parts of the
pelvic diaphram
11:40:28 From Aaron Bendix-Balgley : Mary. That makes sense, thank you. That would give some
geometry
11:41:12 From Hannah Setu : Jazmin, yes! I will! I am in awe of embryology Bonnie style, rather
than what I studied 40 years ago.
11:42:08 From Jazmin Jewel : I learned some with Tara Judelle too but I want to continue so
there's a book recommendation on the website....its' on my list
11:44:36 From Lauree Wise : I take back the trampoline association - not dimensional enough
11:44:40 From Sara Vogeler : Try adding your hands to mimic the pelvic floor in all
positions…(except on your hands and knees) Then you can alternate—do pelvic floor opposite your
hands and arms…
www.bonniebainbridgecohen.com
2020 Fall Series – Class 7 14
11:44:53 From Jazmin Jewel : jade egg is so useful in working with this area
11:46:10 From Romanie : Is this helpful if you are losing urine while laughing?
11:46:13 From Sae Tsuchihasi : As I doing the figure 8 of moving the per. body forward and back
11:46:28 From Toni Smith : Tracing the figure 8 around the anus and vagina feels great. It also
engages all the other pelvic striated muscles.
11:46:36 From Sara Vogeler : you can also play with adding the ischial tuberosities and circling
left to right and right to left in the figure 8.
11:46:55 From carmela : Bonnie, you have a gift and able to donate so much to us
11:47:19 From Sara Vogeler : remember to go forward towards the pubis and back towards the
coccyx for the sagittal figure 8.
11:47:28 From Sae Tsuchihasi : continue. it feels like I am using the illiococcygyl muscle and
glutescoccyg. muscle—is this correctZ? I did not ever feel those muscles before so it’s a guess
11:47:59 From Louisa Turner : hard to switch off deep abdominals at the same time
11:48:15 From Janet Kahn : As I do these figure 8s, I feel a reaching as I pass by the bottom or
top of the 8 and a condensing as I cross over from one circle to the other.
11:48:27 From Sara Vogeler : Louisa, allow the deep abdominals to come along for the ride!
11:48:35 From lynn jordan : amazing experimenting starting with tiny figure 8’s and expanding
them. And reversing direction. Accessing deep core muscles for the first time.
www.bonniebainbridgecohen.com
2020 Fall Series – Class 7 15
11:49:04 From Patrice Heber : So if the perineal body is too tight and not elastically condensed,
it can pull on the xiphoid process? Since the pubococcygeal is connected all the way up the rectus
abdominal? Is this a correct view?
11:49:44 From Dani Lima : it seems easy to do the figure of 8 in the transversal direction than
sagital for me
11:49:48 From Basha : If you would like to share something with the entire group, choose All
panelists and attendees in the drop down menu in chat before you send your message.
If you would like to share something with just panelists (Bonnie and her team), choose All panelists in
the drop down menu in chat before you send your message.
11:49:57 From Patrice Heber : Thanks Sara. That’s what I”m feeling
11:51:06 From Sara Vogeler : Bonnie is describing a very small figure 8 around anus and vagina.
11:51:12 From Jazmin Jewel : which do you think is more beneficial? the cutting less painful, but
is the tear sometimes less?
11:51:53 From Paula Josa-Jones : Sara - I am finding the figure 8 in the horizontal plane - it can
also be transverse. movement.
11:52:05 From Jane Ellison : Patrice, remembering you from 80’s summers. xo
11:52:08 From Jazmin Jewel : I haven't given birth so I'm just wondering based on what I've
heard.
11:52:17 From Aaron Bendix-Balgley : If we've learned a truth, that's gonna get in the way. I like
it.
11:52:21 From Marghe Mills-Thysen : In the Feldenkrais Method we talk of the First
Approximation in first times practicing something, exploring, learning, getting to know
11:52:33 From Laura Ann Wolfe : Thank you for making more expanse for exploration.
11:52:45 From Dani Lima : yes but ir semms easier to do it around isquios
11:52:46 From Patrice Heber : Hello Jane. Of course I remember you fondly. We had that
adventure with the bat one night!! Remember
www.bonniebainbridgecohen.com
2020 Fall Series – Class 7 16
11:52:54 From Sara Vogeler : Paula, yes, you can play with the 8 in all three planes, and if you
want, add the semicircular canals in the inner ear!
11:53:14 From Zaia Bachrach (zAy-uh) : love and welcome the body!
11:53:15 From Basha : If you have questions for Bonnie about the material she’s presented,
please post them in the Q&A. She will respond to as many as she can in just a little bit.
11:53:27 From Jane Ellison : Patrice, that was my first association when I saw you here.
11:53:35 From Hannah Setu : Oh yes, I have had an episiotomy more than once and a repair, the
scars took forever to soften. Had not thought deeply about how this affects us in the way Bonnie
explains.
11:54:05 From Brid Connole : wonder if its possible to dissolve colorectal adhesions from
endometriosis?
11:54:07 From Mary Jo Fulmer : How does the condense/expand correlate to the figure 8? Is it
free play with that?
11:54:20 From Sara Vogeler : You can add your semicircular canals, your eyes, your pelvic floor
and do 8s all together!!!! HAAAAHHHHA!!!
11:54:34 From Hannah Setu : Yet another reason to have as natural a childbirth as possible, with
midwife if possible.
11:55:37 From Bob L : figure 8 through perineal body released my hip joints. rotators...

11:56:05 From Jazmin Jewel : Oh yes, I have had an episiotomy more than once and a repair, the
scars took forever to soften. Had not thought deeply about how this affects us in the way Bonnie
explains.
@Hannah
Thank you for this - I know my body produces a lot of scar tissue and it doesn't soften well, I had an
emergency surgery on a paraumbilical hernia. It is now, ten years later because I am massaging it.
11:56:09 From vivien : @Bob I feel that release in the hip too
11:57:15 From Hannah Setu : Oh that piriformis! So many of my massage clients need attention
here!
11:57:37 From Liz Atkins : Armadeep, could we see full screen view of the skeleton and bonnie?
11:57:49 From Louisa Turner : i wonder how many gluteal bursitis are from a weakness in one of
the quarters of the pelvic floor?
11:58:18 From 429439b : how do you find the pubic disc other than imagining the weight
through it?
11:58:31 From Rachael : Amazing I just realised I can make the picture of Bonnie or the
illustration bigger, and smaller!
11:58:48 From Prema Anand : they can slide the middle bar
11:59:00 From Prema Anand : and it can move the size of the two screen
11:59:14 From Camelia Shakti : What does dorsal view mean.. a bit confused ;)
11:59:26 From Sae Tsuchihasi : they can adjust zoom setting to see both views
11:59:35 From Sara Vogeler : Oh, thanks for mentioning that middle bar !!!
11:59:38 From Kathryn Grey : I can see both. I have Bonnie on platform and on You tube. 2
Computers….

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 18
12:00:22 From Basha : If you were not able to see Bonnie and the drawing, it likely has to do
with your settings in Zoom. When we show both again, you can see if going into Speaker or Gallery view
in Zoom makes a difference for you, then let us know.
12:01:09 From Hannah Setu : Louisa, late reply, agree on your bursitis comment.
12:01:53 From Louisa Turner : and often pubis is very stiff too Hannah
12:02:32 From Elizabeth J Lutz : I don't have an option to chooe speaker/gallery veiw. on this
computer. I can go on my phone and look at utube
12:03:08 From elizabeth poole : is the tushy depression where the sciatic notch is located?
12:03:27 From Hannah Setu : Welp, I can see there is a true market for a properly suspended,
dynamic, tight but elastic skeletal model.
12:03:31 From Rima Faber : I have learned that in times of great stress the piriformis will spasm
in an attempt o hold us "upright." This often causes lower back pain.
12:03:38 From Basha : I apologize, I may have given you incorrect information. We'll look into
why some people are able to see the split screen and others are not. It may have to do with a Zoom
update.
12:03:50 From Sara Vogeler : yes, but very deep, Elizabeth, and depends on your shape.
12:04:15 From Sae Tsuchihasi : if possible please show with the pic. of muscles again?
12:05:29 From Basha : If you have questions for Bonnie about the material she’s presented,
please post them in the Q&A. She will respond to as many as she can in just a little bit.
12:05:37 From Bob L : please show leg and foot with rotation of external obturator
12:06:33 From Firat Yener : can we see more of b’s leg movement
12:07:16 From Janet Kahn : As a bodyworker the best technique I have found for helping people
with sciatic pain is Zero Balancing. There are piriformis stretches one can do for oneself which are also
helpful
12:07:57 From Suzy Lovegrove : The side we are working on feels ALIVE!

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 19
12:07:59 From Patrice Heber : So excellent Bonnie. Very generous of you. Loving these muscle
details of the pelvic floor and the hip socket!!!!
12:08:14 From Susan Bauer : are we going to do the other side together..?
12:08:24 From Mariah Maloney : Thank you for “muscle mind unknown” :)
12:08:29 From vivien : I feel very light in my body after this exploration
12:08:32 From Sara Vogeler : the sciatic nerve passes through the piriformis
12:08:35 From Robbyn Scott : Im curious, now about the details of moving the leg back
12:08:44 From Hannah Setu : Janet I am also a bodyworker, would you mind sharing website or
email? mine is hannah setu (dot com)
12:10:52 From martha eddy : Every time Bonnie walks away I enjoy expanding with the
exhalation and when she present information I’m enjoying the condensing of my two diaphragms as I
breath in the information (a kind of absorbing). This helps me let go of muscle mind getting
overwhelmed and also helps my postural support.
12:11:59 From Marghe Mills-Thysen : Please ask Bonnie to include which way she is cur renting a
muscle: origin to insertion or vice versa; leg to pelvis/ to sacrum....etc. Thanks.
12:12:15 From Janet Mcgregor : can you reove drawing please so we can see Bonnie
12:13:16 From Susan Topf : I have a vertical slide bar in my MacBook screen where you can
make bonnie’s video larger ~ may help :)
12:13:19 From Miriam P : you can resize the two images. make bonnie bigger by draggling the
square.

2020 Fall Series – Class 7 20
12:13:57 From Jazmin Jewel : there are so many words here that are going to take me many
years to learn...
12:15:09 From Cynthia Williams : the 6 deep provide a more integrated balance and support
12:15:39 From Louisa Turner : does each side of the pelvic floor condense on that weight
bearing side during walking?
12:15:54 From Hannah Setu : Ha! We are greedy for ALL from Bonnie; asking for the diagram
and the whole body and the close-up and the repeat.... This takes time away from Q&A all the toggling,
just sayin'...Oh yes todays class is one to be repeated till we can absorb all. <3
12:15:56 From Amal ElWardi : To be clear, sacrum expands on movement and condenses when
we shift/step onto leg?
12:16:41 From Angelique Sideris : Every time Bonnie shows movement the camera freezes.
12:18:10 From Diane : Noticing much more differentiation in the foot of the leg I’ve been playing
with—each of the lateral rotators seems to activate a slightly different part of the foot.
12:18:48 From Lauree Wise : Frozen for internal obturator demo now
12:19:41 From Debra Lacey : Maybe a colored piece of fabric for next week?

12:21:02 From Sara Vogeler : Bonnie will repeat this next week, so don’t panic!!!
12:21:05 From Robbyn Scott : Your knowledge is amazing, Bonnie and your relaying of it is truly
a feat to be admired!
12:21:09 From amelia ender : As someone who is sitting in front of the screen a lot these days, I
love finding the expression, articulation and fun of my lower brain! - helps me release my neck and eyes
12:23:17 From Prema Anand : I am sure i will need to repeat many times....
12:24:44 From Kristel Seidler : i’m going to replay this a few times as it’s extremely valuable
demonstration and anatomy talk. agreed this is a challenge and I love it!
12:25:01 From Hannah Setu : oyezzz 'the hardest class'... glory be...thank you Bonnie
12:25:57 From Bob L : I can appreciate how low these 3 (6) muscles are. Thx.
12:27:02 From Laura Ríos : where does the internal obturator stars and ends?
