CHEAT SHEET:

5-Step Ad Creative Modeling Process

Instructions: Click 'File' > 'Make a copy' > save to your own Google Drive.

Step 1: Create a Swipe File.

● How? This used to be manual process (code snippet); now very easy w/ TubeSift.
● Why? When you’re ready to model, you have something to model from.
● Swipe file as a process - You’re constantly building a “war chest” of creative concepts
for inspiration.
● Spend 30 minutes weekly to go on the hunt - add ideas to your swipe file.

Step 2: Find winning creatives that work so you can model them.

● Look at your ongoing Swipe File for inspiration.


● Also refer back to your Market Research (Media Planning Template) for ideas.
● You can also use the Ad Swipe File we’ve provided for you as a Bonus.

Step 3: Transcribe it.

● Use Temi.com or Rev.com to order cost-affordable transcripts.

Step 4: Model it.

● Use the Transcript + Video Creative Framework, and/or one of the


Video Ad Script Templates we’ve provided in this course, you can shortcut your
creative development and model your new concept after the winning ad.
● Put your own spin on it!
● Don’t “copy” it verbatim.
● You can use 60-70% of something that worked, to inspire your own concept, then add
your own style/flavor for the remaining 30-40%.

Step 5: Produce it.

● Follow the “Production Styles” and “Creative Development Agency Process” in this
course to bring your ad concept to life on video.
Pro Tips

- Sometimes it’s just a small concept, tactic or technique, and not the entire creative
message, that you can model for your own ad and find success.
- Look at different niches / products outside of your own industry (not just competitors).
See how you can borrow an idea that works in a different space, and apply it to your
own.
