Answer:

There is a huge amount of pressure on young people, from their teacher, their parents and
themselves, to succeed in school and in sporting. As parents, it is surprisingly easy to exert
too much pressure on our children. We want their children to be better. This is why knowing
if you're supportive, or demanding, is important. Too much pressure damages the self-esteem
of a child and can cause serious consequences such as depression. It can lead to stress, lead to
headaches , stomach problems, neck problems, sleeplessness and even anxiety. If students do
not fulfil the expectations of their parents, they create a sense of worthlessness which is one
of the main reasons why the rate of suicide among teens has quadrupled in the fifties. A
research group found there were "no academic advantages and potential disadvantages in
creative and emotional expression for children from highly scholarly environments" Pressure
does not help children to do well in school; it can actually do exactly the opposite and
overlook the nature of the child. It should not be the academic success but its passion for
learning should be developed. Parents need to support and praise their children regularly if
they are proud of their achievements. Children thus learn to strive for success, not just for
their parents.
