PART 1 (90%)

QUESTION/TASK 1 (30%):

OBJECTIVE:

The purpose of this assignment is to develop learners’ ability to:

1. Review and evaluate different perspectives of strategic management

2. Conduct some analyses on a selected organisation,
3. Identify a strategic management issue or problem in an organisation and propose
recommendations to solve it.

REQUIREMENT:

1. Select FIVE (5) articles on a chosen topic from the Learning Kit and write a critical
review on those articles. The review should be critical in nature and not be a brief
summary of the selected articles. Each critical review will be worth 6 marks.

QUESTION / TASK 2 (60%)

2. Select a Malaysian organisation of your choice. Conduct some analyses on the

organisation and identify a strategic management issue or problem faced by the
chosen organisation (the issue/problem may relate to any section or department of
an organisation, eg. Human Resource, Marketing, Manufacturing, Production, Sales
etc). Using the following sub-headings, write a full case study of the organisation. For
confidentiality purposes, you may disguise the organisation’s name. The report
should contain the following:

a) The chosen organisation’s background, vision and mission.

(SWOT) analysis in the form of a matrix.
