Nails/m = 0.02kg @ RM4.23/kg
Wastage = 5%
Carpenter = 0.08hour @ RM87.50/day
Profit & overhead = 15%

2. ROOF STRUCTURE – Pitched roof rafter

50mm x 100mm sawn pressure treated timber pitched roof members - m

Assumptions:

Timber = RM5,350.00/tonne (Density = 675 kg/m3)

Nails = 0.02kg @ RM4.23/kg
Allowance for laps & wastage = 10%
Carpenter = 0.10 hour @ RM113.50/day
Profit & overhead = 15%

3. ROOF STRUCTURE – Fascia board

25mm x 100mm wide wrought pressure treated Grade B timber fascia board fixed to timber - m

Assumptions:

Timber = 100mm x 25mm @ RM2808.33/tonne (Density = 770 kg/m 3)

Nails = 0.02kg @ RM4.90/kg
Wastage = 10%
Carpenter = 0.20 hour @ RM113.50/day
Profit & overhead = 15%

4. ROOF FINISHES – Interlocking clay roof tiles

420mm x 330mm interlocking clay roof tiles to 75mm head lap and 35mm side lap laid at 40o pitch, each
tile twice nailed every alternate course on 50mm x 25mm sawn pressure treated timber battens – m2

Assumption:

Interlocking clay roof tile = RM1.90/Nr.

Timber 50mm x 25mm = RM3016.67/tonne (1 tonne = 1506.00m)
Nails = RM4.50/kg
Nails for batten 63mm = 220 Nr./kg
Nails for roof tiles 50mm = 260 Nr./kg
Rafter (c/c) = 600mm
