Project Name: Solid Waste Management
Introduction
Solid waste management is to create a safe, efficient and effective waste
management, disposal, and recycling system that protects the natural environment
while supporting the community vision to achieve a sustainable future. Moreover,
The ecological management of solid waste refers to the systematic management of
activities that involve separation of source, separate transportation of storage,
transfer, processing, treatment, and disposal of solid waste, as well as all other
waste management activities that do not harm the environment.
Purpose
The growing pile of garbage is an eyesore. But there is an even more
negative impact of garbage: Mother Earth is in grieve because people have been
trained about the appropriate garbage disposal, yet they continue to do it in their
convenient way. The contaminated environment has produced several illnesses,
some of which have resulted in death. However, we can avoid such situations when
we an orientation for us to be aware of the proper disposal of waste because it is one
of the most important parts of waste minimization. Avoiding the unnecessary use of
resources means there are fewer wastes to manage.
This project is worth sponsoring by Provincial Municipalities wherein they can
handle waste in a larger area. This will beneficial to our community because
improper waste management can caused bigger problems that affect not only the
environment but also the health and life of the people.
Description
This environmental program aims to promote individual responsibility towards
proper segregation, collection, transport, storage, treatment and disposal of solid
wastes through the formulation and adoption of the best environmental practices in
ecological waste management excluding incineration on their community.
All representative of any barangays has given an orientation regarding proper
waste management and they are responsible to disseminate the important
information to all people who are living in their respected areas. So that we can avoid
such negative situations. Everyone must be aware of the proper disposal of waste
because it is one of the most important parts of waste minimization.
Support
The estimated budget needed of the Government for implementing this program
range from 500 thousand to millions since this problem is endless. Consistent with
Section 8 of RA 9003, one of the role of the DENR is to provide technical and other
capability building assistance and support to the Local Government Units (LGUs) in
the development and implementation of local solid waste management plans and
programs. Therefore, everyone must be participating to maintain the safety and
cleanliness of the environment.
