Introduction:

The biological diversity of Pakistan primarily consists of wildlife, which is also a significant

renewable natural resource. Its preservation is essential for ethical and socioeconomic grounds

alike. Animals in the wild and birds are an important component of our ecosystem because they

have great ecological, aesthetic, and economic values. As a result, the preservation of wildlife

for human consumption and enjoyment has a long history. Customary and statutory laws,

which date back to the early 1900s, were created for this reason.

Each province is guided by the National Council for Wildlife Conservation (NCCW) in response to

the nation's diminishing and depleting animal resources. From the middle of the 1970s, the

Northern Areas, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Islamabad Capital Territory have passed

Wildlife Protection Acts and established regulations. These laws control hunting and offer

protection to specific animals. Wild animal and bird possession, export, and import.

Additionally, they recommend management techniques include the development of national

parks, game reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, and more recently, community-managed wildlife

conservation areas.

These acts and regulations have undergone numerous revisions and alterations over time to

satisfy the needs of a specific province or area. For wildlife managers and researchers across

the nation, all these modifications and alterations were either tucked away in files or buried in

official paperwork. Wildlife acts and regulations were frequently not recompiled or reissued

after their initial printing in the 1970s. So, it was urgently necessary to compile all of these acts
and rules with the most recent updates and make them available in a printed document that

included all of the provincial acts and rules.
