Our project is sponsored by XYZ Health , XYZ Health is a leader in the healthcare industry, known for
its innovative approach to healthcare services and its commitment to patient-centered and health
services company that aims to provide comprehensive health services to its clients. The project is
developed by a team of students from ABC University.

Business Needs:
There is a growing need for a comprehensive health management system that can help patients and
healthcare providers to manage health information and treatment plans efficiently. Existing health
management systems have limitations and are not user-friendly, which affects patient compliance
and clinical outcomes. There is also a need to improve patient engagement in their healthcare
journey and provide a platform for communication between healthcare providers and patients.

Business Requirements:
The HealthConnect system will be a web-based application that will allow patients to access their
health information, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans, from anywhere, at
any time. The system will also allow healthcare providers to access patient information and
communicate with patients regarding their treatment plans. The system will have the following
requirements:

 Secure access to patient information


 Integration with electronic health records (EHR)
 User-friendly interface for patients and healthcare providers
 Ability to track and manage patient appointments and medication
 Patient education resources and alerts
 Secure messaging between patients and healthcare providers

1. Current System: Currently, there is no comprehensive health management system in place


for patients and healthcare providers. Patients rely on paper-based medical records, and
healthcare providers use different electronic health record (EHR) systems that are not
interoperable. There is also a lack of communication between patients and healthcare
providers, which leads to poor clinical outcomes and reduced patient satisfaction.

2. Proposed System:

2.1 Overview: The proposed system, HealthConnect, is a web-based health management system
that aims to provide a comprehensive solution for patients and healthcare providers to manage
health information and treatment plans efficiently. The system will have a user-friendly interface for
patients and healthcare providers, and it will be accessible from anywhere at any time.

2.2 Information and Requirements Gathering: To gather information and requirements, we


conducted interviews with healthcare providers and patients to identify their needs and pain points.
We also conducted a literature review of existing health management systems and healthcare
regulations to ensure compliance with data privacy laws and healthcare standards.

2.3 Functional Requirements:


2.3.1 Secure access to patient information: The system must have secure login and authentication
mechanisms to ensure that only authorized personnel can access patient information.

2.3.2 Integration with electronic health records (EHR): The system must be able to integrate with
different EHR systems to provide a comprehensive view of the patient's medical history.

2.3.3 User-friendly interface for patients and healthcare providers: The system must have a user-
friendly interface for patients and healthcare providers to ensure ease of use and adoption.
