1.0 MY IMAGINARY FAMILY BIODATA
My name is Siti Nur Aisyah, 32 years old and my husband’s name is
Muhammad Syahir Zakwan, also 32 years old. We’ve been married for 5 years. I work
as a lecturer at one of private
university in Malaysia which is in
Taylor University and my husband
work as software developer at
Awfatech Global Sdn Bhd.
Approximately my net salary is
about RM 8,500 monthly while my
husband’s net salary is RM 10,000
monthly. Currently, we live in a double storey landed house at Casa View Cybersouth,
Cyberjaya. We also have one child now which is Muhammad Syahreza, 2 years old.
Since both of us is working, so we send our child to a babysitter that also live in our
home area.
For a short-term financial plan, my husband will hire someone to clean our small
landscape around the house every month. He also will hire a maid every month to
clean our house whenever I’m
too busy to handle it. As we both
is ambitious in our job, we
manage to have Honda Civic as
our first car and Perodua Myvi
as our second car. Sometimes, I
will drive by myself to go to my
workplace in Subang. However,
most of the time my husband is
willing to send me to my
workplace because our workplace is close to each other. Both of us have savings in
CIMB Bank. We both also paid for Takaful insurance for our family coverage during
hardship, utility bills, and other monthly expenses as well. For our house, we still have
loan balance to be paid every month for ten years. For our car loan balance, the first
car still has loan balance for 4 years while the second car still has loan balanced for 5
years. We plan to settle all the debt according to the stipulated period to avoid default

payment. My husband pays for our car maintenance twice a year to prevent bigger
issue from occurring and not putting our family at risk.
In addition, as for our non-monetary goals, every year we will plan a holiday trip
to spend time with each other and also with our beloved son. We will plan a short trip
to go holiday in Malaysia or outside Malaysia depending on our budget during that
year. We always have
dreams to go to
Switzerland where the
world’s most photographed
mountain. Since our son is
already 2 years old, it is a
perfect time to bring him to
travel outside the country.
Since we also make a savings in a Tabung Haji, we already planned to performed Hajj
along with our children when he grows up in about 10 to 15 years. We also planned to
have second child in another two years. Thus, as a parents, I will ensure that my
daughter would have a bright future. So, I told my husband to do saving for our child
education with ASB 3 Didik.
As for our long-term financial plan, for our retirement planning, we plan to not
withdraw our EPF money for unnecessary reason except in the state of emergency.
We also have savings in Tabung Haji and my husband invests in Bursa Saham
Malaysia. Therefore, we will try to plan our financial planning properly and manage our
resources to its most efficient state. This is to ensure that we have enough resources
to pay all the debts and expenses as well as to generate more savings for the future.

2.4 FURTHER EDUCATION PLANS

Since I am graduated in Master of Islamic Banking and Finance (MBIF) at

University Technology Mara, I have a dreams to further my studies at PhD level. My
further education plans are to continue my studies at PhD level in Islamic Finance and
Muamalat in UiTM Shah Alam. The duration of the studies is between 2-4 years. I will
be a part-time student because currently I’m working as a lecturer in private university.
Approximately the tuition fees per semester is RM 4,025 which I think is very affordable
to me. The reason I want to pursue my study because it is my dream since I was 19
years old and I want to seek for more knowledge in finance. The more I learn, the more
I realize how much I do not know about certain things. That is also the reason why I
always want to push myself to learn more.
