The Fey

They have as many faces as there are shadows, and as many Powers ascribed to them.
The Fae. The Fair Folk. Tanu. Firvalig. Tuatha De Dannon. Feyrie. In some places
mere legends, in others all too real. There are many races of the Fair Folk, who
seem to live in very different places. Many shadows have open gateways to lands of
the Fey, or lands the Fey once lived in.

Fey Sight (5 Points) (required for all other abilities)

The basic ability all with Fey blood must possess--it must be possessed at birth
normally. Other abilities may be taught but this one is either possessed or it is
not. Those who possess this initial level may be required to use a trance state or
something similar to focus their abilities. Someone trained in the Sight will have
the ability to sense the True nature of things. Keep in mind that the Sight is not
very well understood. One person may see the true nature of anyone who eats of
their food. Another may see it only after intimate encounters. And the information
gained is not motives and such but more what a person is really like underneath. Or
a thing, if that version of the Sight allows it.

An active mental screen or shield will have a good chance of negating this level of
the Sight.

True Sight (5 points) -- Fey Sight required

With concentration, the Fey is able to perceive the mental auras of those around
her. Auras reveal information such as relative mental power, emotional condition,
and physical health. Combined with Truth Sense, it makes it much easier to be
certain of prevarication as well as outright lying.

True Sight is based on The Sight, and is limited by the same properties. It does
however provide much more immediately useful information.

Exalted True Sight (5 Points) -- True Sight required

A much more powerful form of The Sight, this version is always on, no matter the
will of the Fey. The Fey will see the Truth of what lies before him at all times,
without the requirement of concentration. Note that this ability drives most who
possess it mad, unable to deal with the horrid truths surrounding them.

Also note that ability to see does not grant ability to know. If one is paying
attention to a person, then this ability would function. But the Fey would probably
miss the person sitting in the corner. A Mental Screen cannot stop this ability,
but a Mental Shield can.

Truth Sense (+5 Points)

Without a psyche conflict, a Fae can often sense the truth. If a person lies, the
Fey will often know it intuitively, unless the target is taking some measures to
prevent it.

Glamours (5 Points)

This is the ability to project images into a target's mind. Note that only one
target at a time may be affected and concentration must be maintained. The images
can be simple ones, such as a door in a wall, or to cover a door in a wall. They
can also be tied to emotions, such as fear. In that case, the effectiveness of the
images is based on the knowledge the fae has of the mind of the target. This is a
straight Brute Psyche conflict in most cases. A target with active mental screens
or shields cannot be affected with this power.

Invisibility (5 Points) -- Glamours required

This is quite simply the ability to make oneself invisible. It is a difficult task,
and very draining, but it can be done by those with enough training and Power.

Curse (+5 Points)

This is a much weaker sort of curse than Pattern curses. The Fey can curse much
more often however. Curses normally take the form of 'poetic justice' and the power
level of cursing milk to be sour until a farmer's disposition improves and the
like. Each time a curse is cast, the Fey loses a point of Power (until the curse is
lifted). There is no sure way to avoid a properly poetic curse.

Empathy (+5 Points)

A very well known ability of the Fey. The Fey with this power has a natural
affinity with animals and plants, even a small bit of telepathy when intelligence
permits. Most of these creatures will view the Fey as friendly unless given reason
to do otherwise.

Advanced Empathy (+5 Points) -- requires Empathy

The possessor is abnormally affected by the plants, animals, and natural substances
of their environment, especially when the environment has strong vibrations.
Touching an animal, or walking into a clearing might trigger a reaction, usually
unsought and unwanted. Concentration does very little to help this talent--the
impression either happens or it doesn't. Reactions vary, but will usually manifest
in chills, cold feelings, or perhaps visions, depending on the strength of the
vibration.
