on the beach just out of town, and on a hill also just out of town.

• You and your family are organizing a surprise birthday party for your
mother. Three locations are suggested: at home, in a restaurant, and
in a karaoke bar. Which do you think is the best place for the party?
• You and your boyfriend/ girlfriend would like to buy a book as a
birthday present for her/ his mother. Three options are suggested: a
comic, a detective story, and a romance. Which do you think is the
best choice for her?
