Next Generation Product Link™ Elite Field Installation Hardware for

Mining Available

Caterpillar is pleased to announce the availability of the next generation Product Link™ Elite
field installation hardware for the mining industry. The new hardware has been released to
include connectivity capability with on-board hardware systems on additional Cat machines.

The next generation Product Link Elite field installation hardware is compatible with the
following new interfaces:
• VisionLink support for HMS 6020B
− Only compatible with PLE for Mining Kit and Health Aftermarket SEA
• Water Delivery System (WDS) for 777G
− WDS parameter support for Edge
− Base machine parameter support for Health and Edge
• Large Track Type Tractor (LTTT) Guardian Replacement
− Can install PLE instead of Guardian + PLE on LTTT that do not have VIMS from factory
− T Series available
− R Series available but requires field validation

Existing PLE interfaces include the following Komatsu models:

• 730E-10
• 830E-5
• 930E-5
• HD785-7/8 – Health and EDGE only

PLE compatibility is also available for the following Komatsu models, but requires field
validation:
• 730E-8*
• 960E-1*
• 960E-2*

PLE replaces the HIM Kit for the following Komatsu models, but requires field validation for the:

execution of a three-way Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between the Customer, Komatsu

Order Process

• Hardware orders need to be placed using the ANTARESSM Parts Ordering or DBS/DBSi
systems.
• SEAs need to be enabled using Cat ET. Once the SEA is enabled, a dealer charge will be
incurred.

Product Support Literature:

The serial number prefix “PL6” is reserved for Product Link service documentation focused on
the PLE601, PL641 and PLE641 hardware configurations. Use this serial number prefix within
SIS to quickly search for available literature.
