1-Purpose:
The purpose of this document is to clean dirty Hoods to overcome fire and hygiene related
issues, simple recommended guidelines for hoods cleaning at PepsiCo Sunder plant.

2-Scope:
This procedure is applicable to dirty hoods cleaning at PepsiCo Sunder Plant.

3-Exlusion:
Electrical work, Hot Work

4-Hazards and Risk Involved:

6: Role & Responsibilities

It is responsibility of Hoods cleaning team to ensure that all safety precautions and steps
should be followed (Defined in section 5) before executing activity.

7-Safety Precautions:

 LOTO compliance should be followed as per EHS guidelines.

 Ensure to cut off the power supply of before starting activity. Power isolation
will be carried out by applying 2 LOTO at isolators (One by Operator and one by
artisan) as per EHS hazardous energy protocols.
  8. Procedure/Steps Involved:

 Clear all the area where working is going to start.

 Use lifter if the filters at certain height.

 Remove the filters for deeper clean.

Filter cleaning Steps:

Capture jet fan filter placed at supply plenum, to change or clean the filter.
  Take the air filters out of your range hood to clean them.
 Mix warm water with degreaser solution.

Potential Hazards:

 Place the filters in the water to soak for 15-20 minutes.

 After allowing them to soak, remove the filters from your cleaning solution.
 Using a soft cloth and rub them gently.

I. Cleaning the stains and marks inside the hood.

Note: Filter must be fully dry before placed back at the fan.

Hood duct cleaning:

I. Check hood duct for cleaning.

II. Wash hood duct with hot water or mild detergent if required.
III. Placed duct back at the hood.
IV. Finally, remove LOTO and observe the behaviour.
