Introduction

As explained by Dr. Veerabhadrudu, K. (2022) Child development is the overall well-being

of one’s child. This compose of developing children’s cognitive, physical, socio-emotional and
linguistic skills. This development is very significant in children’s life because this will observe
that their biological age is appropriate on their developmental age. Children that has a difficulties
and disabilities should be have an early detection in order to achieve the early prevention and
proper management of their behavior through that, Developmental Milestone serve as the
parents’ or guardian’s guide in order to understand the growth and development of their child.
Children learn in various stage and have a progress in specific period of time. Likewise, children
has different and unpredictable development and they also be a product of multiple intelligences.
As their parent, adult or guardian be aware and wise to find out those factors. Developmental
milestone are the physical or behavioral signs of development. Thus, child, on their early ages
develop over time. This development has a step by step process and progress. So, this
developmental milestone serve as the basis when children has a developmental delays. In
accordance with Raising.Net.Au (2020) Development of the children has a factors such as genes,
nutrition, physical activity, health and community. In order to achieve the development of one’s
child, there are many things that need to consider. It can be the genes of their parents, an innate
traits coming from their ancestors, the nutrition coming from the food they eat, physically fitness
and body exercises, prioritizing health and the environment that they has which is the
community.

One of the most aspect that children needs to develop is the language development. Based
on Indeed Editorial Team (2023) Language development is the ability to acquired writing,
reading, speaking and listening skills. This development is significant to the children’s life
because it helps them to improve cognitive development, promotes social interaction, foster self-
expression, increase literary skills and concepts. Besides, this development proceeds in different
stages from simple to complex stages and it comprises encouragement and support to read,
communicate, and have a self-regulation strategies to improve language development. Children
must learn to speak, listen, write and read. They need to know how to communicate with other
people, express themselves through language, use it appropriately and understand the language
that they use. People engage with many other people for that reason, language will become
effective for communication. As stated by Grover, V., Lieven, E., Rowe, M. & Uccello, P.
(2019) “ Home language environments very considerably, with some that more closely resemble
the language of school. Hence, home language has an impact to learn students in school. Some
children can speak and understand Filipino but some students practiced to speak and understand
English language through that the learnings of the students are base on their Mother-Tongue.

In specification of the language, Expressive language is the ability to express thoughts, use
words, sentences, gestures and writing to convey meaning and messages to others (Kidsense,
2022). This serve as the output of language on how children will compose it (Vollmer, 2020).
Thus, expressive language serve as the foundation of learning and goal settler for students. In
addition, expressive language are design to enhance the cognitive skills of the children by using
appropriate words and make it applicable in sentences. In line with Vollmer, E. (2020)
expressive language is an “output” language, the ability of expressing themselves into language.
Expressing their needs and wants verbally and non-verbally, put their thoughts into words and
sentences, can ask questions, name objects, use facial expressions and gestures, make comments,
have an appropriate vocabulary, syntax, semantics and morphology. Moreover, she stated that
parents has an impact develop expressive language skills of their children. They must be spent
time to work together with their children in enhancing children’s expressive language
development. In relation to Vivvi (2021) When children cannot communicate their wants and
needs, they often get frustrated. Therefore, it is very important to express the feelings of the
children example when they feel hungry or tired, they need to express it to others in order to
achieve satisfactory in their life as human being.

From this point, play is one way process of learning. Children develop actively and fun
through play. Play makes everything together, it gives children opportunities to enhance their
thoughts, to move their physical body, to engage and join with different people and opportunities
to handle their own emotions and to regulate their behavior in order to become better people.
Play has an important factor and this lead into process than the outcome. ( Murphy, L. 2016).
Then, according to Glatch, S. (2022) word play helps children to have a driven in writing. As to
get children’s interest in learning language, adult must create a twist because word play are not
design to provide entertainment with language, it is also implies to produce a new forms of ideas
and to energize essential nature of language.
