Bear-Bear World is a teddy bears’ boutique located in town. Mrs Joanna, an owner of Bear-Bear
World is planning to do the Year End Sales to clear some selected items to attract her customers.
Mrs Joanna was thinking to advertise the promotion via brochure. She has summarized the details
of the brochure’s content.

Task 1
You are the officer in Printery Shop. Mrs Joanna has given you all the data to create
the promotion brochure.
(a) Before you begin, study the unformatted file Bears-Sales saved in the folder
Your full name DFAP2014A and image files saved in the sub-folder Sec A.
Think of the final design of creating the brochure to suit your intended audience
that meets the needs of the purpose before you start printing for distribution.
(b) To carry out this task, rename the unformatted file Bears-Sales to be Bears-
Sales Your full name.
LO 1 (c) Log on and load the unformatted file Bears-Sales Your full name.
Find the last sentence from the file; add in your full name after the words Bear
Counsellor. The new line should read as below:

@ 1-300-99-9999 OR connect to www.bear-bear-world.com.
LO 1 (d) Also, you have spotted some spelling errors, repeated words and extra spaces
found in the brochure.
Proofread the brochure. Use the spellchecker to correct all the errors found.
Task 2
After proofreading the content of the brochure, now it’s time for you to make some
changes and tidy up the brochure so that it looks attractive and is easier to be read by
the intended audience.
To carry out this task, you may follow the formatting options below.
LO 2 (a) You are required to replace the original main title with one of the Clearance
Sale image and position it at the top of the first paragraph of text.
LO 1 (b) You may use any legible font size, font colour and font type for the content.

LO 1 (c) Format only the last sentence “You may contact our Bear Counsellor, your

Task 3
After refining the brochure, you noticed that the brochure is missing the details about
shipping charges.
LO 3 (a) Mrs Joanna has just given you the details of shipping charges.
Now, you are required to insert a table with 3 columns and 5 rows immediately
after the sentence “We do deliveries to almost all the cities in Malaysia. The
shipping charges are shown as below:”.
Insert a clear line space immediately after the sentence; enter the data below
into the table.
Check that there is a clear line space immediately after your table.
(ii) You may use any legible font size, font colour and font type for the contents
of the table.
(iii) Adjust the column width or row height, if necessary to make the data fit within
without wrapping and is clearly displayed.
(iv) Make sure the table does not split over two pages.

LO 1 (b) Now, some additional formatting is required for the table displaying the data
about the outfits for the bear.
(i) You may use any legible font size, font colour and font type for the outfits’
names in the table.
(ii) Adjust the column width and row height to make sure the images and text fit
well within the table.
(iii) You may resize the images for outfits, if necessary but the original
proportions must be maintained.
Task 4
Mrs Joanna is still not satisfied with the brochure’s design as it is still looking very
plain. She wants you to make the brochure attractive by adding some images.
LO 2 (a) You are required to insert those images to beautify the brochure. Study all the
image files provided and select the suitable locations to insert the images.
(i) You may include any or all the image files provided. You can also add your
own if you wish.
(ii) Ensure only related images inserted accordingly to the content for the
brochure.
(iv) Use positioning options so that the images do not cover any of the words
or split the paragraph(s).
(v) Resize the images if necessary but the original proportions must be
maintained and fit well within the brochure.
(b) Now, double check your brochure and fit the content in a single-page, ensure
that:
(ii) The images inserted are visible and do not split any of the paragraph(s).
(iii) The table inserted in appropriate place and do not split over two pages.
(iv) All items are positioned within the margins of the page.
(c) Save the file and retain the filename Bears-Sales Your full name.

Mrs Joanna came across an essay competition for students from a magazine. The selected
winners will be awarded a book voucher of RM500.
The aim of this competition is to encourage students in essay writing and making them enjoyable.
There is no restriction to the topic on the essay writing.

Finally, you have made your decision to write an essay on the topic My Favourite
Toy for the competition. The organiser has fixed some rules for the competition. The
participants have to study and follow the rules.
(a) Before you begin, study the unformatted essay My Favourite Toy saved in the
folder Your full name DFAP2014A and image files saved in the sub-folder Sec
B.
(b) Rename the unformatted file My Favourite Toy to be Your full name Favourite
Toy.
LO 4 (c) Log on and load the unformatted file Your full name Favourite Toy.

The organiser has indicated that the essay must fit in a single-page. Now, you are
required to edit and refine the essay. The objective is to ensure that the essay is
suitable for its purpose and meets the need of the intended audience.
Think of the final design for creating the essay which will be published in the
magazine.
LO 5 (a) To carry out this task, you may follow the formatting options below.
(i) Format the main title with larger font size, font colour, font type and style (add
emphasis by making it bold and/or underlined).
(ii) You may use any legible font size, font colour and font type for the content.
(iii) Apply appropriate colours to highlight key points within the text or add
emphasis by making it italic.
(iv) You may add in colours and/or background design but ensure that all the text
is readable and appropriate for the intended audience.

styles you have chosen.
(iii) The images inserted are visible and do not cover any of the words.
(iv) All items are positioned within the margins of the page.
(d) Save the file and retain the filename Your full name Favourite Toy.
