1. Red blood cells (and other cells) have a large number of solutes inside of them. Saline
drips at hospitals are designed to be isotonic with the concentration of your red blood
cells and ensure your best rehydration. They are created with an equal salt and water
content to match your red blood cells. Why couldn’t they just put fresh water in the drip
bags to rehydrate you?
