Work Immersion

Mock Interview Reflection

Wet palms, Overthinking thoughts, Dehydrated, and Hungry. I wasn’t ready when I walked in
through the door, I kept overthinking I might mess up, although I did research a bit of my course,
I was still nervous, I kept reviewing my resume and application letter, thinking maybe I messed
up some parts of my words. Restless leg and sweaty face. I couldn’t hear what the interviewer
was saying to the interviewee, if only I could hear on what were they saying, I could get a
glimpse of idea on what I should say. It was my turn, I stepped in and sat on the chair properly, I
took off my mask and smiled at the interviewer, she smiled back at me. Now it was only the first
interviewer so it should be easy, the interviewer said to me that I shouldn’t show that I am
nervous, look properly into their eyes and smile. It was easy as I thought it was, it was only
random questions but a rather hard one that could make my brain work a bit better for the next
interviewer. I stepped out of the chair and went back. I waited again for the other interviewees to
finish, it was my turn. I knew that this one is going to be a bit hard, I stepped in as usual, he
stood up, raised his hand, I shook his hand, and said good morning, a more formal way of
greeting. I sat down, looked into the interviewers eyes and smiled just like the last interviewer
said. I felt so nervous because I know his questions are going to be hard, I know for sure because
he’s a strict teacher that I know of. But then, he started asking questions, I didn’t expect that it
was actually an easy question, I felt relieved, he then finished all of the questions and then
advised me some words, he told me that I shouldn’t show that I’m nervous, and shouldn’t stiffen
my shoulders. I went back to my place and sat down, this time I felt confident to my next and last
interviewer, I waited again till it was my turn, it was my turn, I stepped in to the chair and sat
properly, looked into the interviewers eyes and smiled, she asked me on how I was doing and
shook my hand, I responded and went in to her questions. I felt confident on my answers, I
believed in myself that I took it right.
