Introduction
The main difference between the
two is that food allergies involve the
immune system, whereas food
sensitivities do not. Food
sensitivities are uncomfortable, but
not life threatening.
Factor Sensitive about food
Factors that contribute to food
sensitivity are:
• genetics (characteristics that are
passed from parents to their
children)
• Allergen Ingredients (From Food or
the environment)
• Intestinal permeability
• Indigestion
• Intestinal microbial imbalance
• Deficiencies in certain nutrients
Pathophysiology Sensitive about

food
Allergen substances can enter through the body by

being swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the

skin. In a healthy digestive tract, the amount of
allergens that can penetrate the mucosal barrier is
very limited. But under certain conditions, for
example, there is stress, toxins. Microbes, drugs,
organ malnutrition, most of the food can cause
inflammation and change the structure of intestinal
mucosal cells to become more tenuous (loose) and
make it easier for allergens to enter through the
digestive tract known as "leaky gut syndrome".
food allergies
Addressing food allergic
There is no “cure” for food allergies and,
thus, the best way to prevent

them is to completely avoid the offending

food. Because allergic

reactions differ from one person to

another (e.g. some people are

sensitive to peanuts, others to eggs),

avoidance is the best way to self-

protect against them

Causes of Food Allergies
•Immune system

Antibodies are special proteins

produced by the immune system to

protect the body.

•Histamin
Most of the characteristic symptoms that

appear during an allergic reaction are due to

histamine.

•Non-IgE-mediated allergies
One type of food allergy is food allergy that

is not mediated by IgE, which occurs due to

different cells in the immune system.

•Certain Foods
In children, the foods that most

often cause allergic reactions are

eggs, milk and their derivative

products, soy, wheat and nuts. In

adults, food that often causes

Food Allergies Risk Factors
• Family history
• History of other food allergies
• Age
• Intestinal Bacteria
Food Allergies Symptoms
• A reddish rash that appears to appear on the surface of the

skin.
• Itchy rash.
• Tingling in the oral cavity.
• Difficult to swallow.
• Swelling of the mouth, face and other parts of the body.
• Nausea and vomiting.

Conclusion
• LIA NITA SAFITRI
SO FOOD ALLERGIES ATTACK THE IMMUNE

SYSTEM, WHILE FOOD SENSITIVITIES DO NOT

ATTACK OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM. FOOD

SENSITIVITIES ONLY MAKE OUR BODIES

UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT DO NOT AFFECT OR

INVOLVE OUR OWN IMMUNE SYSTEM.

Conclusion
• NADYA NAISANAFAH KHAIRUNISA
SENSITIVITY ABOUT FOOD AND FOOD

ALLERGIES HAVE DIFFERENCES, THAT IS,

SENSITIVITY ABOUT FOOD MAY AFFECT THE

HUMAN BODY'S SYSTEM, IT ONLY CAUSES

DISCOMFORT BUT DOES NOT THREATEN THE

IMMUNE SYSTEM IN OUR BODY, WHILE FOOD

ALLERGIES CAN THREATEN OUR IMMUNE

SYSTEM AND ALSO HAVE CERTAIN EFFECTS.

Conclusion
• LILIS NOPITA
SENSITIVITY ABOUT FOOD IS A FEELING THAT

GIVES THE EFFECT OF DISCOMFORT, BUT HAS

NO EFFECT ON THE STATE OF A BODY. WHILE

FOOD ALLERGIES ARE CONDITIONS WHERE OUR

BODY'S IMMUNE SYSTEM IS DISTURBED

CAUSING THE POSSIBILITY OF ALLERGY

SYMPTOMS SUCH AS THE APPEARANCE OF

RASHES ON THE SURFACE OF THE SKIN AND

FEELINGS OF NAUSEA AND VOMITING.
