Prime Minister Narendra Modi released over Rs.20,900 crores to more than 10.09
crores farmers across India as 10th installment of financial aid under PM- KISAN
scheme.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sammaan Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, a financial
benefit of Rs. 6000 per year is provided to the eligible farmer families, payable in
three equal installments.
With the released latest tranche, the total amount provided under the scheme has
touched about Rs. 1.8 lakhs crores. PM-KISAN scheme was announced in February
2019 Budget. The first installment was for the Period December 2018 to March 2019.

policies to encourage green energy production?

1. In July 2021, to encourage rooftop solar (RTS) throughout the country,


notably in rural regions, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy plans to
undertake Rooftop Solar Programme Phase II, which aims to install an RTS
capacity of 4,000 MW in the residential sector by 2022 with a provision of
subsidy.

their interest in buying BrahMos from India to secure their defence architecture.
BrahMos is a joint collaboration between India and Russia and is capable of being
launched from land, sea, sub-sea and air against surface and sea-based targets and has
been long inducted by the Indian armed forces
The BrahMos is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from
submarine, ships, aircraft or land. It is notably one of the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in
the world
