Social media allows people to selectively present an idealized version of their lives that may not reflect reality. Users curate photos and stories to portray themselves as living happy, interesting lives, but this ignores aspects of their lives they choose not to share. In reality, people are more complex than what they present online. Constantly comparing oneself to idealized versions of others' lives on social media can lead to feelings of inferiority and insecurity. While social media allows people to find inspiration, it also encourages hiding imperfections and focusing on appearances over substance.

With the advent of social media, it has become more easier for people to get attention. The right filters, beautiful clothes, smart quotes- and the internet star is ready. Endless photos from vacations, parties, Hollywood smiles, cute kids and animals, a lot of flowers…Pretty good life, right? A user on the Internet selectively demonstrates to the audience moments from an invented bright and interesting life, which is not reflected in real life.
How real is social media?
We all know that our profile in Instagram doesn’t always show real life and how we live. We only see the part that we are allowed to see, other is hidden from our eyes. Nowadays the main task for people is to show with your profile that your life is beautiful. And that’s why. The thing is that the basic law of desires is working here. Posting happy pictures- you attract happiness, posting post about problems and complex- you get problems and complex. Let people see only what you yourself would like to see in your ideal life. And everything will be fine. This is what most of us think right? However, we need to understand that happiness is in the simple things in life and it is up to each person to find out what really makes them happy. On social media people show what they would like to be but not always are. First, editing one's own life demonstrates a search to hide an emptiness, whether it be insecurity, abandonment or low self-esteem. Scientists confirm that the more we devote time to social networks, the more an inferiority complex develops in us. All this happens due to the fact that we begin to compare ourselves with those whose accounts we often view - stars, bloggers, photographers, designers, or just interesting personalities who have several thousand subscribers. It seems to us that their appearance is perfect, and life is like in a movie. But don't be so naive, it's easy to wishful thinking on the internet. People are more what they hide then they show.
What is so good about social medias?
Firstly, they powerfully motivate, energize us for work, development, achievement of goals. We love people who inspire us and give us a piece of their energy, being charged with it we try to be better and to inspire others. The normal reaction when you see something good in others is not to envy and suffer what is wrong in your life, but to want to be better and set your own goals. Personally, I have never had a desire to compare myself with others and get upset about it. We are all different and each has something in which he is worse than others and this is great because would it be interesting to live in a world where everything is perfect? So, with the help of social medias we become better and change in the right direction, which means we are bringing ourselves closer to the realization of dreams.
