may be experienced for a day or two in respective season

The rainy season in mostly confined to south-west monsoon
with 80% of the rainfall received during june to October(60 to 70

rainfall.

 Duties and job responsibilities of the staff
Reservation: A reservation is responsibilities for room inventory of the hotel. It receives all room bookings and
processes on the PMS and dissipates the hotel status to all concerned.

Front desk (Reception & FO Cash) : the reception is responsible for the registration of guest during check-in and to
complete billing formalities during check-out of guest as well as the guest requirements during their stay. It is the
face of the hotel the first and last point of contract.

Guest relations: A guest relation welcomes the guest on arrival. Solicits guest feedback during their stay and
passes the information to the concerned department with regards to the guest requirements apart from
maintaining the guest history to ensure personalized service.

Bell desk: The bell desks assist the guests with their luggage during arrival and departure and also take care of
errands for the guest as & when required. Is also responsible for the cleanliness of the lobby areas.

Travel desk: the out-source travel desk takes care of all the travel requirements of the guest including ticketing.

Operator: this is the first invisible face of the hotel. It takes care of all the communication to the hotel or from the
hotel.

FTSY: ‘fortunate to serve you’ this is one point contact for all the gust requirements related to all service in the
hotel like laundry. Room service etc. we call is at ‘FORTUNE ASSITANCE’ for the guest the number “6” has been
assigned for the same and the guest relations desk handles all the FTSY calls.

Business center : this department is very important to all business travelers as it takes care of all business
requirements of the guest like faxes, internet, emails, photocopying, orienting etc. we also have a board room
located adjoining the business center for meetings and interviews.

Housekeeping: housekeeping department is dedicated to preserve the tion. The rooms the department is also
responsible for cleaning, upkeep and maintenance of the entire hotel to provide a clean, comfortable, safe,
soothing and appealing ambiance by quality, and hygiene.

Laundry: our laundry is a complete advance fabric care system catering to the personal wardrobe of our guests
and colleagues’(staff uniform) apart from the room and F & B linen through the process of cleaning and finishing
of garments, by keeping them neat, tidy, and CRISP. We PROVIDE 24hrs of quality service combined with
technology, trained manpower as well as broad spectrum laundry detergents/cleaning agents ideally suitable for
all types of fabric.
Administrative & General
Executive Offices: our executive offices are responsible for establishing standards and ensuring best customer
satisfaction and coordinating with all hotel operation.
Finance: our finance departments works together to systematically maintain records of all financial transaction of
the hotel and record keeping for all assets and liabilities maintain suitable cash flow, credit recovery and correct
balance between payables and receivables.

Human Resource & Administration: our HR department’s major responsibility is to maintain employee spirit and
ensure all employees benefits available to them. It co ordinate all the welfare activities and advices all levels of
management on professional approaches to hiring and employees relations. This department also handles all
administrative functions for all the employees like payroll, leave records, statutory, compliances etc.

Lost Prevention/CSO: our Loss prevention department ensures supervision and monitoring of security and
discipline related matters to the hotel. Frisking, timely maintenance of processes, proper work environment, fire
installation checks and safety compliances are also responsibilities of the department.

Learning and Development: L & D is responsible for ensuring that new joiners are sufficiently inducted to the
family and are clear about the basic knowledge about the hotel and hotels ethos and paths I before join their
respective departments. Training also coordinates with all departmental training activities being conducted as per
the calendar by the various departmental learning/training coordinators.

Sales & Marketing: looks after promotion and businesses development of hotel. Transmitting information about
our hotel and facilities to the maximum client, ensuring maximum occupancy and bookings at profitable rates are
the responsibilities of S & M department

Engineering: takes care of hotel equipments along with the maintenance and repair of the same. Has immense
contribution in ensuring guest satisfaction. Responsible for mechanical, technical, fire, civil HVAC related activities.

Tourist Attractions in Mumbai

PLACE OF WORKSHIP:
Mumba Devi Mandir.
Mumba Devi Mandir (Marathi):मुं बा दे वी मं दिर is an old Hindu temple in the city
of Mumbai, Maharashtra dedicated to the goddessMumbā,
the local incarnation of the Devi(Mother Goddess).
Marathi Mumbā derives from Sanskrit Mahā-Ambā "Great
Mother", and Mumbaī combines the name with aī, the
Marathi word for "mother". Located in Bhuleshwar area
in South Mumbai, the temple is in the heart of the steel and
clothing markets.

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir.

The ultimate
destination of thousands of devotees on a Tuesday is the
Siddhivinayak Temple. Even the never ending long hours of
wait do not discourage them from seeking the blessings of Lord
Ganesha. This beautiful temple is located at Prabhadevi.

ISKCON temple.
ISKCON temple, Mumbai officially known as Sri
Sri Radha Rasabihari ji Temple is a temple inJuhu area
in Mumbai in India. It is set upon four acres of land and a stone
throw away from Juhu Beach. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of ISKCON 

Mahalaxmi Temple.
Mahalaxmi Temple is
one of the most famous temples of Mumbai situated
on Bhulabhai Desai Road in Mahalaxmi area. It is dedicated
toMahalakshmi the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam. The temple
was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji (1760–1846), a Hindu
merchant.
 St. Michael's Church.
St. Michael's Church is one of the oldest
Catholic churches in Mumbai. The church is situated
in Mahim, located at the intersection of L.J. Road
and Mahim Causeway. Due to its location, it is also
informally known as Mahim Church. The church is
famous for its Novenas on Wednesdays, which is
visited by thousands.

St. Thomas Cathedral.

St. Thomas Cathedral, Mumbai, completed in 1718, is the
first Anglican church in Mumbai (then called Bombay), to improve
the "moral standards" of the growing British settlement. It is
located on Veer Nariman Road, close to Horniman Circle
Gardens and the Flora Fountain.

Haji Ali Dargah.

Probably one of the most recognized structures in
Mumbai, this Mosque sits on an islet right in near the
heart of the city. Built in 1431, the Dargah is receiving
ongoing renovations, but can be visited during the low
tide. The road is covered during high tide, making it
impossible to cross. The structure is relatively small,
but makes up for it with it’s cultural architecture.
Especially on Friday’s you might get lucky enough to
hear musicians playing a form of devotional music. 
SIGHTSEEING:
Gateway of India
Located in South Mumbai, the Gateway
of India is a monumental arch built 26 meters
high, made in yellow sandstone, according to
16th century Gujarati architectural style. It was
constructed between 1915 to 1924 to
commemorate the visit of King George V of
England and Queen Mary to the city in 1911. This
was the only way to enter India at that time

Elephanta Caves
The Elephanta Caves are located one and a half hour (by boat) out of Mumbai in the harbour.
The site of these magnificent caves contains beautiful reliefs, sculptures, and a temple to the Hindu
god, Lord Siva. A visit to these caves will be a very memorable experience for any visitor to the
Mumbai area.

Juhu Beach:
One of the most affluent areas of Mumbai, the rich and
famous live near this beach. However, it’s open to the public
and offers the visitor a brilliant view of the sea. It’s a good place
to get good food, especially if you like Italian food for a change.
Juhu Beach hosts one of several branches of Café Mocha where
you can get the famed “death by chocolate” desert. You can also
view planes landing and taking off from a good viewpoint at the
beach.

Borivali National Park:

This is a 104 sq.km park is just 40 minutes from the city centre. Once you walk into the national
park, you will be overawed by the 109 kanheri caves, which line the side of the rocky ravine in the
center of the park. Dating back to the 2nd and 9th centuries, these Buddhist caves are open to the
public between 9am – 5:30pm daily. Soak in the wonders of nature.

Nehru Planetarium:
Nehru Planetarium is the name given to five planetariums
in India, named after India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
These are located in Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune andBangalore, plus
there is a Jawahar Planetarium in Allahabad. Nehru Planetarium
in Punewas the first one in Asia, established in 1954.
Worli Sea Link:
The cable-stay bridge connects Bandra in the
western suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South
Mumbai. This amazing structure is not only a great way
to cross the channel, but makes for a great drive. The
scenery is amazing, not least of which is the view of the
ocean. The structure itself, with its complex
combination of concrete deck and cable-stayed spans is
amazing to view, as it was built to not only work, but to look stunning as well. It’s worth a drive
through, both during the day and in the evening as it’s lit up.

NCPA auditorium:
If you’re looking to catch a good play, this
auditorium is built for large-scale events such as
orchestral concerts, opera, ballet, dance programs

charge about INR 37 from the depot.

Belapur Fort :
Belapur Fort is a fort near the township of
Belapur in Navi Mumbai (New
Bombay),Maharashtra, India. The fort was built by
theSiddis of Janjira. It was later conquered by the
Portuguese, and then Marathas. In the early 19th
century, the fort was captured by the British. After the
British gained supremacy in the region, with the
expansion of theBombay Presidency, the strategic
importance of the fort declined, and it fell into disuse.

 EXPERIENCE
I VIKAS.A.SAWANT would like to share my
experience with my teacher and colleagues. I completed my
training from FORTUNE SELECT EXOTICA . My training
experience was really memorable for me because it has
thought me a lot of good things which will help me in future
for my career. It was an excellent working experience with
FORTUNE HOTEL. As the staff of the hotel was too
corporative and the working conditions were favorable and
safe for the staff as well as the trainees.
I got my industrial training done in the different
departments of the hotel such as BANQUETS,KITCHEN,
FOOD&BEVERAGE, HOUSEKEEPING,FRONT OFFICE
& ACCOUNT'S/STORE. My senior staff would always use to
tell me whatever problem may arise be ready to face it in a
positive manner. I have always listened to them, I

use to watch their way of working in manner of talking to the

guest, handling guest problem, etc.
The staff of the hotel was very good in the way
of talking & teaching the work. I had learned many new
things from the hotel even my managers use to appreciate me
in my work.
 I have enjoyed working with the fortune hotel,
that really helped me to gain knowledge of hospitality
industry. The staff members were very cooperative and strict
at the learning part. There was a atmosphere like a family. In
the department there is a lot of unity and responsibility which
thought us how to gain knowledge and to prosper our own
personality as well as how to achieve hospitality goals. The
training had improved my communication &technical skill.
The overall experience of the hotel was very nice.
