“City dwellers are only allowed to use public transport and bikes to travel in

town”. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your
answer.
In my opinion, it is obligatory that city dwellers can only use public transport and
bicycles to travel in town. To begin with, cities, especially big ones, face an
emerging issue which is environmental pollution. In fact, cars and motorbikes
discharge exhaust fumes that do harm to the air whereas bikes use no engine and
public transport can greatly decrease the amount of gas released. Hence,
environmental problems can be solved, and residents’ health can be ensured.
Furthermore, another issue public transport and bicycles can address is traffic jams.
More specifically, traffic congestion happening frequently in cities at rush hours
contributes to air pollution and sometimes causes emergency cases to be delayed.
However, by using public transport such as buses or undergrounds and bicycles,
this will not be such a problem. Finally, numerous public bicycles sharing systems
as well as many other bus stops or elevated railways have not been used regularly.
Therefore, promoting the use of these can benefit not only the residents with
financial savings but also the environment. In conclusion, public transport along
with bicycles should be the primary means of transportation in town for city
dwellers.
