Learn about animals that we have in our homes as pet animals. Skills Focused on: developing of speaking and reading skills. Resources: Textbook, multimedia (if available), flash cards. Methodology: (a) Prior Knowledge: (Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, etc.) The teacher will ask some questions from the students like: 1: Do you like animals? 2: Which animals we can keep in our homes as pets? 3: Which food your pet animal like to eat? After getting different responses from the students the teacher will announce the topic that today we are going to learn about some land animals that we see in our surroundings. (b) Explanation: ( Based on Cross- Curricular Links) Here the teacher will tell the students that on our way from school to home, we must have seen some animals like cats, dogs, goats, hens, cows, etc. These all animals live on land. We keep some of these animals in our homes as pets. Some of these animals give us milk like cow, goat etc. We also get meat from cow. Hens give us eggs. She will also tell about some other animals from which we get wool as well. She will use some flash cards and the students will tell how animals are important for us, which things they like to eat, which things we get from their skin as well. So, in this way the students will be able to learn about land animals in a good way and can enhance their understanding skills about the topic easily. (c) Activity: The teacher will invite two students on the stage. Flash cards will be used, one student will guess the name of animal and the other student will tell which thing we can get from these animals. Wrap-up: Oral question answers will be done in this regard. C.W: C.W: Some questions will be asked from the students by seeing different animals on page#3.
