The Summarize “Putri Gading Cempaka”
One day, there lived a king from Bengkulu. His name is king Ratu Agung. He ruled the
Sungai Serut kingdom with its inhabitants who live peacefully and prosperous. The king has seven
children with one youngest daughter her name is Putri Gading Cempaka. She was very beautiful and
kind, so noble man wanted to propose to her. Raja Ratu Agung refused all of them because his
daughter was still young.
Once upon a time, the king was weak and called his children to his room. The king felt that
his life was not long, then told his children to always have a good relationship. The king also left two
messages. First, made the sixth son named Anak Dalam to be the next king. Second, they had to go
and stay in Bungkuk Mountain that couldn’t bring safety, and wait for the king who wanted to
propose to his daughter. A few days later the king passed away which made everyone mourned and
was buried in a special place. Then, they held the crowing ceremony of Anak Dalam as the new king
and changed the name of the Bangkahulu kingdom. Anak Dalam leads wisely and the people loves
him.
One day, a prince of Aceh kingdom came with several people to propose Putri Gading
Cempaka. He sent soldiers and counselor to see king Anak Dalam. When stated his attention, king
Anak Dalam told the counselor that they couldn’t accept the prince proposal because they had to keep
their father’s promise. The prince was so angry and felt insulted by it and challenged king Anak
Dalam to a war. The big war took place with many casualties. Just then, Anak Dalam and his brothers
remembered their father’s second will. They flee to Bungkuk Mountain with some survivors.
Meanwhile, the king of Aceh returned to his kingdom. This condition Bangkahulu kingdom
empty and unguarded. Some noble from Lebong Balik Bukit came to claim and fight each other for
the throne. A couple weeks later, Maharaja Sakti a wish man came and brought all the noble men into
an agreement. They asked Maharaja Sakti to be their king of the Bangkahulu kingdom. When the
crowning ceremony, suddenly a big storm appeared which was never ending, and canceled the
ceremony. Maharaja Sakti was curious about this and asked his shaman. His shaman told if he wanted
to be the king, he should wed the descendant of the rightful king. After that, Maharaja Sakti asked the
shaman to found the princess. The shaman discovers that the princess was in Bungkuk Mountain with
her brothers.
Maharaja Sakti send his soldiers and counselor to send massages to the princess and her
brothers. When they arrived, they stated their intention. Putri Gading Cempaka and her brothers
realized the similarity of her father told and accepted the proposal. After that Putri Gading Cempaka,
her brothers, and soldiers returned to Bangkahulu kingdom. A big party was held for the wedding and
crowned Maharaja Sakti as the new king with Putri Gading Cempaka as the queen. They rebuilt and
moved the kingdom at Kuala Sungai Lemau, and they changed the name into Sungan Lemau
kingdom.
Conclusion, with great sincerity in keeping the orders and messege of parents well, all the
difficulties that come will end in happiness.
