OVERVIEW
This workbook is a pedagogical proposal for second grade of primary school that presents some resources and
strategies as contribution to science contents knowledge in second language and helps students to acquire
scientific and linguistic skills at the same time with the purpose of building competences.

The workbook is structures in three general modules focused on specific areas of the natural science: Living
Environment, Physical and Chemical Environment and Astronomy. Ecology activities have been distributed
inside these three modules because these topics are common to develop them.

The modules are made up of units developed with activities in which there are specific components to approach
them as readings, graphic organizers, scientific news sections, report of experiments, lab pages, and picture
dictionaries to register new vocabulary. All of them guide the work of the curriculum and provide learning
experiences to encourage students for developing inquiry skills as exploring, observing, escribing,
communicating, and constructing easy conclusions in order to discover science concepts such as citizenships
competences.

At the end of each unit check point section helps students to verify their learning about the unit, so

The important thing is to never stop questioning [or

learning].” – Albert Einstein
