Direction:

To begin the lesson, the teacher will post another set of pictures on
the board and identify students to give their insights based on the
picture presented.

GUIDE QUESTIONS

1. What have you observed in the pictures?

2. Who can differentiate the image on the board?

Discussion

A. Farm Inputs
 Things put into the farm production process
 Input supply can be usefully subdivided into three types of services,
namely; Fertilizers and chemicals, Seeds and planting materials,
and Machinery and Equipment.

a. 1. Farm Outputs

- Farm outputs are the things that are produced like harvested
crops, milk, meat, eggs.

B. Farm Labor
 (It refers to work performed by farm workers in exchange for
salary.)
(It is the body of persons engaged in such activity especially
those working for salary.)
 General farm workers Plant, cultivate and harvest crops, raise
livestock and poultry, and maintain and repair farm equipment
and buildings.
 General farm workers perform some or all of the following
duties, such as; plant, fertilize, cultivate, spray, irrigate and
harvest crops. Feed and tend livestock and poultry.

b. 1. 3 Kinds of Farm Labor Requirement:

1. Labor Requirement for Land Preparation

(Plowing using tractor, clearing of the Land Using Hoe, Plowing
using Animal, and Plowing using hand tractor)
 It typically involves (1) Plowing to "till" or dig-up, mix,
and overturn the soil; (2) Harrowing to break the soil
clods into smaller masses and incorporate plant residue,
and (3) Levelling the field. Initial land preparation
begins after your last harvest or during the fallow period.
2. Labor Requirement in Planting

(e.g., “pulling of seedlings” – pulling of seedlings together with

its root to transfer. And “transplanting of seedlings” –
transferring of seedlings to its permanent garden.)

 Any material added to the soil to support nutrient. Either

organic fertilizer or inorganic.
 Fertilizer, manure, dried leaves, sunlight, water, air,
seeds, and germination, are some labor requirements
needed for plant care.
3. Labor Requirement for Plant Care
 It is the last requirements of farm labor. It includes;
Fertilizer Application, pest control, irrigation, weeding,
and harvesting.
B. ABSTRACTION

Afterward, the teacher will deepen the knowledge of the learners. As

the teacher discussed the lesson, he will ask questions to the learners
so that he can address misconceptions within the lesson.

Question:

1. Explain the importance of Farm Inputs and Farm Labor and their
function. And how do agricultural inputs affect our life?

C. ANALYSIS

Direction: Call a student and ask him/her about the topic.

Afterward, ask the students to write down and identify at least
two (2) examples of farm inputs.

IV. ASSESSMENT

Direction: Using the given format below, kindly arrange and sort
the pictures according to their category e.g.;
Seeds – “Farm Inputs” or Transplanting – “Farm Labor”

Farm Inputs Farm Labor
