 (MCA MONTESSORI SCHOOL) STUDENTS

Statement of the Problem

Sleep deprivation is a prevalent issue among students, and it has been shown to have negative
effects on academic performance. However, there is a lack of research on the specific impact of
sleep deprivation on the academic performance of students at MCA Montessori School. The
purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between sleep deprivation and academic
performance among MCA Montessori School students. Specifically, this study aims to answer
the following research questions:

1.1 What is the prevalence of sleep deprivation among MCA Montessori School students, and
what are the factors contributing to sleep deprivation in this population?

1.2 How does sleep deprivation affect the academic performance of MCA Montessori School
students, particularly in terms of grades and test scores?

1.3 What are the potential long-term consequences of sleep deprivation on the academic and
professional success of MCA Montessori School students?

1.4 What are the students' perceptions and attitudes towards sleep and its importance for
academic performance at MCA Montessori School?

1.5 How do demographic factors, such as age, gender, and academic level, influence the
relationship between sleep deprivation and academic performance among MCA Montessori
School students?

Hypothesis/Assumption
Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study will focus on investigating the relationship between sleep deprivation and academic
performance among MCA Montessori School students in a specific academic level. The study
will examine the prevalence of sleep deprivation, factors contributing to sleep deprivation, the
effects of sleep deprivation on academic performance, and potential interventions to address
sleep deprivation. Data will be collected through surveys of students` sleep habits and academic
performance, as well as interviews or focus group discussions with teachers and administrators.
However, the study will be limited to MCA Montessori School students only and will not
investigate the impact of sleep deprivation on other aspects of students' lives, such as mental
health or social functioning. The study may also be limited by the availability of data and access
to participants, which may affect the generalizability of the results to other schools or
populations.

Significance Of The Study

administrators on the impact of sleep deprivation on academic performance. The findings
of the study will help identify effective strategies and interventions that can be
implemented to improve student's sleep habits and academic performance.

 Health Impact: The study will highlight the importance of healthy sleep habits for the
physical and mental well-being of students. The results of the study may lead to the
implementation of policies and programs that promote healthy sleep habits in schools and
communities.

 Economic Impact: Sleep deprivation can lead to reduced productivity and increased
healthcare costs. This study will contribute to the understanding of the economic impact
of sleep deprivation on society and the potential cost savings associated with preventing
sleep deprivation.

 Research Gap: There is a limited amount of research on the specific effects of sleep
deprivation on the academic performance of Montessori School students. This study will
contribute to filling this research gap and help provide a better understanding of the issue.

 Parental Awareness: The study's findings will help raise awareness among parents about
the importance of healthy sleep habits for their children's academic success and overall
well-being. This can lead to improved parenting practices and a better quality of life for
children.
