Mathematics in Modern World

Activity 1

1. Is there Mathematics in nature? Explain why.

Yes. Nature has Math in a technical sense, just as our entire lives revolve on it. Our body
is a good example. Our bodies have a lot going on: the heart pumps blood, the brain controls
everything, the lungs inhale and expel air, and so on. Without Math, none of this would work.

2. Describe each image/picture.

- Spider web is a sticky net that spiders use to catch and consume their prey. They're usually
thin, but they're strong enough to catch insects that get stuck in them.
- A snowflake is a snow with certain pattern and design
- Echinoderms, which means "spiny skin," are a type of animal that includes starfish. Its core
disc is surrounded by five arms.
- Plants having thin or tuberous roots are known as spiderwort.
