Application information and health and safety measures:

Please refer to the enclosed safety data sheets for all information on the topics of handling the paints and
hardeners used.

Please also note that the usage of the personal protective equipment specified in the data sheets is imperative.

Two damage cases are described in the following:

Damage case 1: Rectification of deep scratches covering a large area

In the case of transport damage with deep scratches covering a large area (see example below) the damaged
plate must be completely repainted to obtain an even paint texture.
This method can only be used for making good the paint if the painted plate does not exceed a size of
approx. 2 m x 2 m, as otherwise there can be problems during the processing and drying of the paint (due to the
fast action of the hardener).
If the damage cannot be made good on site, the damaged part should be replaced.

Step 1:
Example of paint damage with long, deep scratches down to the
metal.

Step 2:
Rub down the surface prior to using the filler. Roughen the
surface by hand using the emery paper provided or with the aid
of a sanding block.

Step 3:
After rubbing down the surface to be painted, thoroughly clean
the surface using a hand brush or compressed air and free of
dust from rubbing down.
Clean and degrease the surface to be painted
(e.g. nitro thinners or white spirit).

Step 4:
Prepare filler. The mixing ratio of filler to hardener is 100:2.
Pay attention to good mixing of the two components.

Step 5:
Cleanly and evenly press the filler into the scratches with the aid
of the small spatula provided and draw smooth.
Then leave the filler to dry for approx. 10-15 min.

Step 6:
After the filler has hardened, rub down plate again.
If scratches are still visible, repeat step 2 to 6.

Step 7:

no longer visible, rub down entire plate. Thoroughly clean the
surface using a hand brush or compressed air and free of dust
from rubbing down.
Clean the surface to be painted using silicone remover.

Step 8:
With the aid of the graduated beaker supplied prepare an
adequate quantity of paint to suit the size of the area to be
painted.
Mixing ratio:
4 parts textured paint
1 part hardener

Step 9:
A piece of cardboard or plate should be used to distribute the
paint evenly on the roller supplied.
Then evenly apply the paint to the surface to be painted using
the roller.

Step 10:
After application, leave the paint to dry until it has fully cured.
Depending on the ambient conditions, this process can take up

Damage case 2: Making good small surface scratches

In the case of minor transport damage to the paint with small surface scratches, the defective area is filled with
paint with the aid of a brush.

Step 1:
On the left there is an example of a small surface scratch.
Rubbing down and filling is not necessary, the scratches are
filled directly with paint.

Step 2:
With the aid of the graduated beaker supplied prepare an
adequate quantity of paint to suit the size of the area to be
painted.
Mixing ratio:
4 parts textured paint
1 part hardener

Step 3:
Clean the surface to be painted using silicone remover. The
surface must be clean and de-greased.
Carefully apply/dab the paint to/on the scratch with the aid of the
brush supplied.
After application, leave the paint to dry until it has fully cured.
Depending on the ambient conditions, this process can take up
to 24 hours.
