ABSENCES/LATES
All students must attend
school as per the Alberta
School Act. Our school
phone number is
available 24 hours to take
your call. Attendance is
sent to the office to be
recorded twice a day, first
thing in the morning and
directly after lunch.
While the school makes
courtesy calls home or
work on unexcused
absences,
it is the
parents’
responsibi
lity to
notify the
school when your child is
absent from school.
BEFORE AND
AFTER SCHOOL
SUPERVISION
There is no before and
after school program.
Please do not send your
children to school until
supervision begins at 8:30
am.
Also,
it is
expect
ed that children will leave
for home immediately
after class dismissal and
not linger around school
property.

Out of respect for
teachers who are often
teaching until the bell
rings at the end of the day
and due to congestion in
our hallways, we ask that
parents wait for their
children at the front
entrance of the school, or
at an established meeting
area on the playground.

INFORMATION
Teach children about the
dangers of crossing the
street between parked
cars or when not at a
corner. Children should
cross only at corners and
pedestrian crosswalks,
not diagonally or between
parked cars. Teach
children how to cross the
street safely. Teach them
to stop (before stepping
onto the road), look left,
right and left again, and
listen for traffic before
stepping out into the
street. Teach children to
wait until the street is
clear and to keep looking
until they have crossed
the street. They should
also look the driver in the
eye before crossing.

school matters, ALL
students must be signed
out by their parents at the
office when leaving the
school.
Emergency School
Closures
The Superintendent will
advise of a school
closure through radio
broadcasts in cases of
extreme weather. In
other cases, students will
be supervised until they
are in the care of their
parents.
