Introduction: Writing a thoughtful rejection letter is very important, and also tricky. It
enables the company to maintain a good relationship with the applicant, even if they
were not a good fit for a particular job role. This is because the company knows that, in
future, they may want to circle back to them if another position would open up.
When this comes up, the company would always want the candidate to be excited
regarding the prospect of working with the company, and how the company
communicates has an important role to play in this.
It is important that the company would remain positive with the language and focus on
the language from the description of the job itself.
Concept and Application: Apart from that, it is important to keep in mind that a
rejection letter refers to a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to gain positive feedback
and learn how he can perform better in the future.
Following are the things that should be kept in mind while drafting and writing a rejection
letter:
Thank the candidate warmly: The employer or the HR should mention “We really
appreciate that you took time to consider us. We know there are many companies out
there that have been hiring.
Of course, it is important to thank the candidates for sending in their applications, but
the company should not let it sound mechanical. Instead, it is important to be polite and
convey appreciation in a genuine way. One way to do that is by acknowledging that
there are many companies who are out there to hire. It is a compliment when a
candidate would select to apply and consider a particular company for their next move
in the career, and so, we would want to let them know.

2. Leave the door open: It is important that the company can leave the door open.
HR: We hope you don’t mind if we reach out to you in the future.
Many rejection letters often give a vague hint at a future position or provide a link to the
page of a job that communicates to the candidate that he needs to stay informed, but
each one of them knows that these are only empty words. The former would convey
that the resume would be going into a black hole, and presume that the candidate would
be eager to begin a conversation again if the company ever wishes to. The latter would
imply that the employer could not be really bothered if the candidate would re-apply or
not.

So, it is important that the company genuinely wishes to reopen the conversation again
at a later date. Saying, “We hope you don’t mind if we would reach out to you in the
near future, “is a good place to start with. This way, the company is at least not saying
anything that they don’t mean, and by asking for their permission, the company is at
least considerate of the fact that the circumstance of the candidate may be different at a
later stage.
Try to provide a satisfying explanation: HR: Currently, it is important to focus on
hiring more senior engineers, one for infrastructure, and one who could be a tech lead
for full-stack engineering. It is possible to understand that how frustrating it is when a
candidate would make it to the interview stage, get rejected, and doesn’t receive any
explanation as to why. The candidate has invested their time, energy and hope into the
company, and deserves more than a platitude.

If the employer went with another candidate, it is important to tell them why the other
candidate was much more qualified. If they are not qualified, it is important to explain
them the reason. It is easier for the candidates to accept that they have been turned
down when the company would help them to understand the needs of the company and
the kind of the candidate that is best suitable to fulfil those needs.

Identify a strength: HR: The team was really impressed with your ability to get things
done — even with limited experience — such as when you built out the entire
ecommerce and payment solution at previous company.

If nothing else, it is important to follow this guideline, identify a strength. Writing

something complimentary regarding the skills of a candidate or experience would
greatly cushion the blow of receiving a rejection. If the company has interviewed
somebody for even 10-15 minutes, it is important to know that one must be able to think
of at least one nice thing that can be said to them.

It is important to stay away from generic statements that could apply to anyone. By
acknowledging a specific strength, the employer is reminding the candidate of their
worth at exactly the moment they could be doubting themselves the most.

Encourage them to apply for more positions: It is important to build the connection
by encouraging the candidate to apply for more positions that they are interested in.
This is another way to reassure the candidate that the employer wants them to be a part
of their company’s business.

For instance: “We encourage you to apply for any open position that would fit the
interests and qualifications.

Close with a positive message: Closing is the last impression that a candidate can
make in the rejection letter. In one or two sentences, it is important to thank the
candidate again for their time and wish them luck in their efforts.

Conclusion: A candidate would always feel disappointed if they get rejected, but what
they should not feel is devalued or diminished. It is very important to cushion the bad
news a little better.

Introduction: It may seem like a matter of semantics, the difference between an ethical
issue and an ethical dilemma is an extremely important one, and has huge implications
for practice. There are many scenarios in the professional word that call upon our
knowledge of the Code of Ethics.
Ethical situations are often anticipated to increase as a matter of routine in our daily
practice, and the vast majority of them are straightforward, it is possible to usually make
correct decisions in an easy and a quick manner, as the “right’’ answer is clear.

Concept and Application: An ethical situation would present what I would call an
ethical “issue” when it becomes possible to ascertain the answer by answering a clear-
cut guideline in the code of ethics. As an example, a psychologist who has been asked
by her hairstylist if she can take him on as a client would easily and readily come to this
conclusion that the answer must be “no”, in compliance with the standard of avoidance
of dual relationships.

The ethical process of making decision for an ethical issue as this must occur quickly,
and this leads to an easy resolution, as there is no conflict between principles. Usually,
an ethical dilemma, on the other hand, would occur, if two or more principles of ethical
standards would start to conflict with each other. The situation above would become an
ethical dilemma if, for instance, the psychologist would live in a remote area, and this is
the only psychologist available. In such a scenario, another principle would become
relevant: Namely Principle II: Responsible Caring.
In order to understand an “ethical dilemma” when the issue is clear-cut, and there is no
conflict between principles is neither correct nor is it efficient in practice. In case of a
misperception, an ethical situation that is easily-resolved can instead become very
complicated without any requirement, and moreover, it often can lead to the possibility
of the psychologist acting unethically. In the above example, if the psychologist would
perceive the simple ethical issue as a dilemma, she may, for instance, perceive that she
has an obligation to render treatment to her hairstylist when she doesn’t.

For instance, in an ethical dilemma, scenarios such as taking credit for somebody else’s
work can be one such thing.
Employees are used to working in teams when it comes to creating marketing
campaigns, and the team members develop new products or fine-tune services.
However, everyone in the group doesn’t contribute in an equal manner to the final
product. If three members of a five-person team has done all the work, would those
three members demand receiving proper credit, and also point out that those two
members of the team did not pull their weight?
This is a hard question to answer. If employees would single out their co-workers in a
negative light, it can form resentment. The same thing can happen, however, if all the
employees accept equal praise even though only a selected few could do the real work.
The best way to resolve this ethical dilemma is to not allow it to happen. The members
of the team must insist that each and every employee would perform specific tasks in
order to complete a project.

Ethical Lapse in Organizational Abuse: While interpersonal abuse would involve

targeted action from one member of a corporation towards another member of the
company, the abuse of the organization would stem from the company towards the
members of the company. For instance, “inequity in compensation, appraisals on
performance that destroy the self-esteem of the employee or work pressures that would
make it challenging for the team members to spend time with their family members,
termination of employees through no fault of their own, encouraging of loyalty and not
providing the correct reward, and creation of myth that the company would protect or
direct the career of an employee are some instance of how an organization would
abuse.

Ethical questions cover all the different aspects of the business environment in today’s
time. The process of communication would start to become an integral part of any
environment of business, and must therefore also consider business ethics.
It is important to know that the communication must also result in a responsive
understanding. At each stage of the process of communication, it is important to make
decisions on how it can become much more effective.

Ethical communication would make sure transparency in communication and a good

trust between the sender and the receiver, and this, in turn would lead to an effective
communication.

Following are the guidelines that a trainee needs to keep in mind in order to
ensure that ethical communication is implemented by them and their colleagues:

Render correct as well as complete information: Withholding important information often

leads to a damage to the business relationships and public image of the company.
Information is important and proper information must be provided to all the stakeholders
- be it clients, customers or employees.

Lay down Rules: To have a well-defined ethical system within the company would
help. It is important to let people know that ethical challenges are taken in a serious
manner by the company. It is important to follow the rules by trainees as well as senior
employees. This would imbibe awareness towards ethical questions.

Say what you mean: Overpromising is a quick way to lose an ethical standing,
especially for a trainee that is learning new things and cannot be practically sure about
implementing things. Trainees should bear in mind that their communication always
needs to reflect clearly what they intent to communicate.

Don’t burn bridges: It is important to take care while a draft for any communication is
prepared in order to offend the reader, this would go both for internal as well as external
communication. The idea behind an effective communication is to establish
relationships, and it is very important that the reader doesn’t feel offended.

Conclusion: So, it can be concluded that it is important to be culturally sensitive and

respect the value system of various cultures. Ethical lapse is a mistake or a
misjudgment that causes huge harm to individuals, customers or any other
stakeholders, whereas, ethical dilemma refers to a situation where right or wrong cannot
be decided by an individual.
3rd Answer

3a.

Introduction: No matter which pattern is followed by the writer, what is the purpose of
writing that paragraph, a paragraph should include topic sentences when the paragraph
is introduced by the reader to the topic that the person would be exploring.

Support (Body) Sentences: It is important to support the topic sentence with information
that is relevant to the subject.

Concluding sentences: It is important to restate the topic and summarize any

conclusions that the reader must draw from the information that has been presented.

Concept and Application: The purpose of a definition paragraph is to totally and

clearly explain a term or a subject, and this is usually done with the use of a
combination of three different methods; providing a synonym, placement of the topic
within a large category, or rendering an explanation of what the topic is not in order to
better explain what it is.

Appropriate signal words such as transitional phrases often enable a reader to

understand the meaning as well as purpose of a paragraph. In a definition paragraph, it
is important to make use of:

 Is defined as
 Is called.
 Means.

Persuasion: When the individual is writing to persuade or to argue a point, the purpose
would be to convince the reader that your opinion is the right one. There are different
methods that must be considered when a persuasive paragraph is written or essay, and
it is important to consider the audience while determining which one should be used.

Cause and Effect: At its most basic level, cause and effect refers to a question of what
has happened first, and what happened second. A cause refers to a reason why
something had happened and an impact is the result of the reason. In the writing of the
writer, one may have to explain the cause and impact of the relationship between two
events and issues. By emphasizing on the development of paragraph, it is possible to
trace the connection between these two events.

Classification: This pattern would enable the writer to either divide a topic into its parts
of component, or in order to categorize (or classify) a group of items or events that are
related. Medicine is one of the various branches of science and it would be divided into
various categories or specialties. Doctors would often specialize in internal medicine,
dermatology the system of immunity, feet, ears and eyes.
Process Paragraph: A process paragraph would provide the readers instructions on
how they can accomplish something, or an account how some event has taken place.
Following a logical order is extremely important in a process paragraph. It the writer is
writing instructions, steps must be listed in the order that they must be performed and if
the writer has been describing a past event.

Conclusion: So, it can be concluded that the five ways to develop a paragraph involve
definition, cause and effect, classification, persuasion and process. In definition
paragraph, appropriate signal words such as transitional phrases are used. In
persuasion paragraph, the audience should be considered while determining which
style must be used. In a process paragraph, the writer must ensure that the details are
written in such a manner that it helps the user follow what is written, and this is mostly
done for tutorial videos.

3b.

Introduction: When dividing, the writer starts with one central topic and break that
down into multiple parts. Classification would work in the other direction, and place
things together on the basis of shared qualities or characteristics.

Imagine that all those doctors are at a doctor convention and in order to make sense of
them, one would consider that he or she needs to organize them into groups as per
their specialty. Either way, the writer would end up with doctors that are grouped by
specialty but division would illustrate differences, and classification would focus on
similarities.

Concept and Application: Principle of classification: It is whatever rule or

characteristic you are making use of in order to determine which items would be
grouped together. For instance, if the writer is classifying clothing the writer may classify
by color, and put all green clothes into a category, with red clothes in a separate
category.

Or, the writer may classify by size, by placing the small together, mediums together and
so on.

It is important to remember to make use of one principal of classification at a time

otherwise the designations written by the writer would be confusing and irrelevant.

Topic Sentence: As in any other paragraph, the person may want to start with
classification/division paragraph with a topic sentence. In this pattern, that topic
sentence must introduce the reader to the items or concepts that the person would be
categorization and explain what the classification principle would be.
Supporting Sentences: The supporting sentences must identify the various categories
into which the writer has been classifying or dividing the main topic, with an explanation
as to what would make that category different from other categories. For instance, why
do we divide the dentist and brain surgeons into two different categories?

Concluding Sentence: It is important to start the paragraph with a sentence that

concludes and describes all these categories are related, and why the differences
pointed out by the writer are important.

Transitional phrases

 can be divided
 is a kind/type/part of
 can be classified
 falls under
 can be categorized
 is related to/associated with

Conclusion: Following is an example of a classification paragraph:

Various students have attended various types of schools; they are usually classified as
either public, private religious, private non-religious, or alternative. Public schools are
funded by the state, and the most of the students in the US attend them. Private schools
are schools that don’t receive from individuals. Private religious schools are based
around a particular faith, such as Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, and so forth.
Religion is a part of daily lives of the students and they also learn about their faith in
addition to regular subjects.
