Create a chronological timeline on the system/structure of government of the Philippines from Pre-
Spanish period to the present.
Pre-Spanish Period (before 16 March 1521) Filipinos in the Philippines lived in communities
or barangays governed by chiefs or datus before
the arrival of the Spanish. The nobility was made
up of the datus. Next came the aliping
mamamahay (serfs), aliping saguiguilid, and the
maharlikas (freemen) (slaves).
Spanish Period (1565 to 1898) “United we stand, divided we fall.”
First Philippine Republic (January 23, 1899) “The yoke has finally broken.”
