involved and explain why the item was News-worthy

The Modernization of public transport vehicle in the Philippines . The Public Utility Vehicle
Modernization (PUVM) that aims to transform the road sector of public transport through the
introduction of safer, eco-friendly vehicle and industry consolidation. On the other hand it is the
phasing out of the jeepneys that’s why some of the jeepney driver’s are against of this vehicle
modernization program of the government. That’s why in the transportation group it is one of their
main issues on how they are going to cope up with this modern vehicles that said to be worth more
than a million pesos.

2. Identify one significant transportation event that occurred in your town or city. Discuss the
significance of the event.

One of the significant event that occurred in our town Polomolok is the construction of the
center aisle in our national highway, although sometimes the construction of it brought
inconvenience on the passing vehicles but at some point it is one of the big projects of the local
government to make the road much safer to avoid over taking accidents that usually happens in our
town. That’s why a lot of citizens in Polomolok are glad of the project of the local government.
