NARRATIVE REPORT
School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM)
School Year 2022-2023

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum OUA-IN-090122-005 dated September 1, 2022,

with the Subject “Reiteration of Participation to the 2022 3rd Quarter Nationwide

Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)’, and through the National Disaster Risk Reduction

and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 132, s. 2022, dated 31 August

2022, entitled ‘Participation to the Third Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

2022’ the Department mandates all schools and offices across all levels of the Department of

Education (DepEd) to participate in the 2022 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous

Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 02, 2022, Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

In relation to the said order, Minsamongan Elementary School headed by the School

In-Charge, Sir Angelbert J. Mantabote, conducted the2022 3rd Quarter Nationwide

Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on the date abovementioned which was participated

by one hundred four (104) individuals, of which six (6) were teachers and ninety seven

(97)were learners from kindergarten up to Grade Six (6).

The pressing of the button served as the signal for the learners and teachers to perform

the “duck, cover, and hold”, and an exit in a calm and orderly matter to the evacuation area

which is situated in the school’s lawn, within the flag pole. At the evacuation area, learners

and teachers have been reminded of all the important things to do and think whenever an

earthquake occurs.
 The knowledge imparted by such activities is very crucial especially that the school

site, including all existing old buildings, were tagged as unsafe and was therefore declared

“for demolition” by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office

(MDRRMO) of the Quezon, Bukidnon Local Government Unit (LGU) due to a magnitude 7

earthquake of November 2019 which struck the whole islands of Mindanao and the rest of the

country.
