II. Project Summary

First aid is an emergency care that must be given to an injured or a sick individual immediately and
without any delay. It is the treatment provided prior to the arrival of any professional medical personnel. Having
skill in first aid gives a normal person the power to save individuals from a possible disability and even death
whether at home, workplace, or public locations.
As Doyong Elementary School prepares for the opening of school year on August 22, 2022, it aims to
provide its administrators, educators, and learners the first aid training to empower them with the ability to reduce
risk as well as to assess and manage the situation in the event of a medical emergency. Likewise, providing
knowledge about safety measures in school during the implementation of face-to-face learning will minimize the
risk of COVID-19 transmission among the school personnel and learners.

invited to conduct a one-day training on First Aid and Safety Measures on August 18, 2022 at Doyong ES

III. Project Background

Accidents and medical emergencies are inevitable to happen to anyone at anytime and anywhere. Doyong
ES which has 21 school personnel and about more than 400 learners this school year 2022-2023 is not free from
these incidences. In fact, there is an average of four incidences that need medical attention every year in the school.
This could be deep cuts, bruises, fainting or allergic reaction. Aside from that, there were also recorded deaths of
learners from other schools premises due to drowning which could be avoided if only the persons who were with
them knew how to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Moreover, COVID -19 is still a threat to us human
but face to face learning is now being recommended to recover loss learning.
With this, it is our responsibility to raise basic first aid and safety measures awareness and skills to the school
personnel and learners.

IV. Significance of the Project
