Volunteerism is defined as the active participation of individuals in a community through free will and choice to contribute time and help others. The primary goal of volunteerism is to allow individuals to become active members of their community, build resiliency, and feel a sense of responsibility, achievement, and purpose through learning new skills and meeting people while improving self-esteem and confidence in making their community a better place.

For me, volunteerism is the active participation of individuals in a
community and making it a better place. When we say active participation, it is free will which is done by choice, not forced nor paid. Basically, it is all about ourselves that can be able to contribute and give some of our time to help other people in our community. It is also where we can learn and develop new skills and interests and meet new people. 2. What is the primary goal of Volunteerism? According to UN Volunteers (2022), volunteerism allows individuals to become active and participative, build resiliency, and become responsible for many things in their community. This goal, can give individuals a sense of achievement and purpose, improve self-esteem and confidence, learn new skills, and feel like a part of a community.
