MEET THE TEACHER

Hello and Welcome to another wonderful school year. My name is Alberto Garcia and I am
excited to be your child’s Lifeskills ACU Teacher at Riverside Middle School. It’s going to be a
great and fun year and I look forward to working with your child and teaching them lots of new
things. I graduated from UTRGV in 2018 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and I
have been a Special Education TA with San Benito CISD for 4 years. I recently got my teaching
certificate in Special Education so this is actually my first-year teaching so I am scared but
excited to have a great year teaching my wonderful and special students!!! I have 2 brothers and
2 sisters, 3 dogs and I love dancing. I am also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston
Astros. I am not married or have kids yet but I have been with my very beautiful and supportive
girlfriend for 9 months now. I also love fishing, spending time at the island, and spending time
with family and friends.

In my classroom, I will teach my students important classroom procedures like Pledging

Allegiance to US and Texas Flag each morning, practicing Emergency drills in detail, showing
them to always keep their work area clean and neat.

Homework will need to be turned in on time at all times. Students will be responsible to check
Absent folder for missing work when they are absent. Students will be able to correct an
assignment or Exam with a low or failing grade to receive a 70. Students will be graded on the
following:
Participation 10%
Homework assignments 10%
quizzes 30%
Exams 50%

I have set up a Google Classroom for my class where I will post class announcements and
assignments on a daily basis and also post the methods of communication that parents can reach
me at. Should you have any questions, you can always contact me that Riverside Middle School
or send me a message via Jabber.
