INSTRUCTIONAL MANUALS

Instructional manuals, also known as “user manual”, are directions or procedures on how to
operate a certain work, most commonly for the use of technical equipment,
instruments/device, and appliances. Instructional manuals are often sold with the product so
that the consumer can have a guide to follow while the product is being used. It provides the
consumer, quick and detailed answers to the questions about the product. It is focused on
answering questions such as “How do I use this?”, “How can I get this done?”, “What should I
do if this happens “or “Can I do this?”

It also states what the user should and should not do with the product, as well as
precautionary measures and how to maintain it. It can be written to explain how the product
works, some are built in chronological order using numbered steps, and most rely greatly on
visuals and graphics. And some can have a combination of all. Daily, one example of
instructional manuals that we can encounter is user manuals for new software devices.
