 INTRODCUTION
As a statistician with a keen interest in the practical applications of statistics, we conducted
a survey to investigate the social media usage patterns of students from STEM ENGG 1C.
The aim of this study was to gather data on the most utilized social media applications
among this group of students and employ probability distribution to analyze the data.
Through a survey questionnaire, we collected random data from my peers and used this
information to explore the distribution of their social media usage. In this presentation, I
will share the results of this analysis and provide insights into the patterns and trends
observed in the data.

 CONCLUSION

The survey of 37 STEM-ENGG 1C students revealed that TikTok was the most utilized social
media application with 14 students using it, followed by Facebook with 7 students.
Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter had 5, 5, and 4 students respectively using them. Only 2
students used Reddit. The mean number of social media applications used by the students
was 3.5, with a variance of 3.02 and a standard deviation of 1.74. These findings suggest
that social media usage among the students is relatively dispersed. The results of the
survey have implications for marketing and education. Businesses looking to target STEM-
ENGG 1C students could consider incorporating TikTok into their marketing strategies.
Educators could also consider incorporating popular social media applications into their
classroom activities.
