encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the
prevention and treatment of illness

A carcinogen is a specific chemical or physical agent that can cause cancer in individuals
exposed to that agent.
Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and can
invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body though the blood and
lymph systems.
