IV. PROCEDURE TEACHER;S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

A. Preliminary Activities
I. Prayer

- Let us all stand and pray. - In the name of the

Father and of the
Son and of Holy
Spirit.
Amen.
II. Greetings - Good morning
- Good morning class! ma’am

- Before you take your set, - Yes ma’am

please pick up some pieces
of paper and arrange your
chairs.

III. Checking of attendance

- Raise your hand if your

name is called.

- And now stand up for our

dance .
( raising their hand when
- Let’s dance first baby they are called)
shark

- Very good

- Set down class

A. Reviewing previous - What was our last lesson - About force and
lesson or presenting the yesterday class? its kind ma’am.
new lesson - Very good
- Can you define what force
is? - Force is a pull or
push on an object
ma’am.
- Very good! (clapping their hands)

- Give the kinds of force. - Gravitational

force, magnetic
(teacher choose student force, and
among the class.) electrical force
ma’am.

- Wow! Very good!

- Clap your hands class!
B. Establishing a purpose - I have short clip video here ( watching the video)
for the lesson that I will show you and observe
it.

- What did you observe from - Its about moving

the video that you saw? ma’am.

- Very good!

- What sport do you love? - Basketball,

volleyball etc.
- When playing the sport do
you love did you move or - Move ma’am
not?

- Yes!

C. Presenting examples/ - And now I will group you

instances of the new lesson into 4 groups.
- Each group I will give an
envelop contain it
scrambled letter and your
going to make a word
from that letters.
- I will give you 3 minutes
to do it.

- Did you understand class? - Yes ma’am

Group 2 is the first what is you - Speed ma’am

answer?

- Very good!
-motion ma’am
- How about the group 3?

- Yes very good!

- The group 1? - Velocity ma’am

- The group 4? - Acceleration

ma’am
- Okay very good!
D. Discussing new - Today we will be going to
concepts and practicing discuss about motion,
new skills #1 speed, velocity and
acceleration.

Motion- can be described as

changing position in a certain
amount of time. When you say
that something has moved you are
describing motion.

- I will going to show you

video about motion.
- You saw the video that
motion is all about
movement from one place
to other place example
from the video boy
pushing the table or
vehicles moving.

Reference Point- something that

stationary.

Distance- is the total length

covered by the moving body.
Displacement- from starting point
to the end.

Speed- refers to how fast the

object is moving.

S= d/t
Where:
S= speed
D=distance
T=time

Example;
Lydia de Vega is a world known
Filipino track and field athlete.
She can run the 100.0 m dash in
about 11.0 seconds. What is her
average speed?

Given: d=100.0m
T=11.0s

Solution;
S=d/t
S= 100.0m/11.0s
S=9.09m/s.

- I will give you other

example and try to solve. (solving)

- Did you understand the - Yes ma’am

speed class or calculating
the average speed?

- Very good!
- None ma’am
- Lets proceed to velocity

Velocity- is defined as the

travelled by the body in unit time
in a given direction.

V=d/t
Where ;
V=velocity
D=displacement(distance,
direction)
T=time

Example;
The car is heading north covering
a distance of 500 meters in 20.0
seconds. What is the cars velocity?
Given:
D=500m
t=20.0s
Solution:
V=d/t
V=500m/20.0s
V=25.0m/s,north

Acceleration- is the rate of

change of velocity over time.

Acceleration= change in velocity

Time

In symbols, Where;
A=Δv/t A=acceleration
A=Vf-Vi
T Vf= final
velocity

Vi=initial
velocity

- Ill give you example.

- That was our lesson did
you understand class? - Yes ma’am

- Do you have any

questions? - None ma’am

- Very good!

E. Discussing new - To know better that you

concepts and practicing understand our lesson let’s
new skills #2 have activity.

1. what distance would be

covered by moving vehicle
in 1 minute if its speed is
5.0m/s?

- Who’s going to answer in

the front?
- Very good! All your D= 300m
answered is correct class

2. Jed’s house 6.0 km away from - 0.2 h or 12

his school. How long would it take minutes
him to go to school riding a bus, if
its velocity is 30km/h?

- Very good!

F. Developing Mastery - And now work by pair in

(Leads to Formative solving acceleration
Assessment 3)
Nathaniel is driving his sports car
down a four-lane highway at
40m/s. He comes up behind a slow
moving dump truck and decides to ( doing the task)
pass it in left- hand lane. If
Nathaniel can accelerate at 5m/s2,
how long it will take for him to
reach the speed of 60m/s? - (answer may vary
in each pair of
students)
- I’ll give you 3 minutes to
do it and we will have
sharing out from your
answer.

- What is your answer? (show solution)

T=4s

- Very good class! Clap your

hands for the good jod!

G. finding practical - Okay class gives some

applications of concepts examples motion that we (students answer may
and skills in daily life can see every day. vary)

According to Albert Einstein’s

‘nothing happens until something
moves’ Motion is life.
H. Making generalizations - Lets us see if you truly
and abstractions about the understand the lesson.
lesson - What we did discuss today - About motion,
class?

- What is motion? - All around as that

are moving ma’am
- Very good

-
- Can you identify the 3 that - speed, velocity
describe the motion? and acceleration
- Yes! Very good ma’am

- Give me the formula of

speed, acceleration and
velocity.

- Did you understand? - Yes ma’am

I. Evaluating Learning A. solve the following. Show

solution. 5 points each.

1. if an Isuzu crosswind, with an

initial velocity of 50 m/s,
accelerates at a rate of 15 m/s2 for
seconds, what will its final
velocity be?

2. Ana house is 10 km away from

his school. How long would it take
him to go to school, riding a bus,
if its velocity is 40?

B. fill in the blank choose your

answer in the box below.

VELOCITY MOTION
