THE PROBLEM

competent and disciplined leaders who serve the country with honor and excellence. However, ROTC in
the Philippines has also faced challenges and controversies over the years, prompting the need for a
deeper understanding of its history, impact, and challenges. This study aims to provide an in-depth
analysis of ROTC in the Philippines, shedding light on its evolution, influence on youth development, and
current challenges.
Various measures have been taken to address the challenges faced by ROTC in the Philippines. These
include curriculum and training reforms to make ROTC more relevant and engaging for cadets,
strengthening oversight and accountability of ROTC units and instructors, enhancing partnership
between the military and educational institutions, promoting youth engagement and participation and
to speak controversies and issues through investigation ,policy reviews, and reforms These efforts aim to
To further address the challenges faced by ROTC in the Philippines, it is important to focus on curriculum
and training reforms, oversight and accountability mechanisms, partnerships between the military and
educational institution, youth engagement and participation .By continuously evaluating and updating
ROTC programs, ensuring proper conduct of instructors, fostering partnerships, promoting youth
engagement, addressing controversies. ROTC can continue to evolve and fulfill its role in producing
competent and responsible leaders who serve the country with honor and excellence.
Statement of the problem
The main purpose of this study about ROTC is to determine the specific idea and perception of the
students, Specialy Grade 10 students, this study seek to answer the following question:
mandatory military service that they need to do when they are in Senior High School, This study will
benefits of following:
Student - The result of this study would guide or give them idea or perception about ROTC to know their
responsibilities and they service for the national service for our country this might also help them to
decide what job or profession they gonna choose in the future after taking or finishing this mandatory
military service
Parent - The result of this study might also help they son to stay away from the wrong path and stay
become a good citizen interms of joining the group of ROTC instead of Joining in other Fraternities or
Teachers - The result of this study help them to guide there student to choose what it will help the
teachers to guide their students in good work and not be lost from the path, this study will also help to
topic will help future researchers to understand and do this topic well by having good and good results
for it
Definition of terms
ROTC-(Reserve Officers’ Training Corps)A program offered in many colleges and universities that
provides military training, leadership development, and character education to students with
the aim of producing commissioned officers in the Armed Forces. ROTC programs are typically
affiliated with a specific branch of the military, such as Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines.

Training-The process of instructing and preparing cadets in ROTC programs through various
activities, such as military drills, physical fitness exercises, leadership exercises, and practical
field training. Training is designed to develop cadets’ military skills, leadership abilities, and
character traits in order to prepare them for future service as commissioned officers.
Accountability-The expectation that cadets in ROTC programs are responsible for their actions,
behavior, and performance. Accountability includes adherence to military regulations, meeting
academic requirements, and maintaining physical fitness standards. Cadets are expected to
demonstrate accountability in their conduct and performance throughout their participations in
the ROTC program.
